The NIKE Hoop Jamboree: June 18, 2007
Bill Edwards- As a powerful 6-foot-5, 239-pound shooting guard, Edwards was one of the most productive players in the camp. The lefty knocked down threes and consistently worked his way to the rim. He also showed a feel for passing the ball without over dribbling. Based on the viewing at the camp, Edwards is quite a promising perimeter prospect as long as he keeps his weight in check.

The top rated Ohio prospect in 2009 according to Rivals.com is Bill Edwards. The wing player from north of Cincinnati says he is hearing the most from Wake Forest, Michigan State, Miami (Ohio), Miami (Fla.), Xavier, Ohio State, and Dayton. Of those schools, Miami (Ohio) has offered, though he also has an offer from Massachusetts.

a while back i posted thta for the raiders to improve their perception locally one of the things they needed to do was recruit successfully a big time player, top 100. if we are going to do that in the near future, be jr. would seem to be the best chance. if we cannot bring in the son of our hall of famer, then we probably will not land one at all. i hope be sr. encourages jr. to follow him at the home of the raiders. GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!1

Well said. If we can't land the son of arguably the best player in school history, it says a lot about the state of our recruiting. It tells me we will never have a shot at a top 100 kid.
Then again, based on our attendance (we are second-best in the Horizon League behind Butler but still pretty bad overall), I couldn't blame Billy Jr. if he wants to go somewhere that has more support for the program, plays in a higher profile league, etc. But DO NOT let him go to Dayton (or Miami U.) or that will be like smacking WSU fans in the face. If he goes to Miami Fla or something like that, I could understand it. But if he wants to stay close to home, I just hope he picks WSU.

Bill Edwards (2009, 6-7 SF/PF) Bill is a massive wing player. At first glance, you’d figure he was a force in the post. He handles the ball very well and can attack off the dribble. He did struggle to finish some during this contest though. He also went inside and converted on a short post jumper. Bill used his size to pull down several boards too.

November 12th (4:45 p.m.)
- One player Ohio does not seem to be looking at is Middletown’s Bill Edwards (6-5, 240). According to his All-Ohio Force AAU coach Gregg Brown, Edwards recently picked up an offer from Penn State, but is being advised by his parents to sit on it and wait for a better offer. Edwards, though, is running out of options at this point, and it doesn’t look like being a Bobcat is one of those options.

2009 Draft Board Dirty Dozen 12/2/08 With the prep hoops season nearing tipoff we wanted to give you a look at our Top 12 2009 Ohio prospects that are still on the board. Desmar Jackson is getting High-Major interest from the likes of UCONN to Duquesne. Bill Edwards is waiting on the highest offer and that could be Penn State. Paulk will have to go JUCO, but Kent State has already extended their love. Kyle Randall flew out to Stanford, but that would be a academic scholarship. Porrini is wide open and it will be a fight to the finish in the books. Cunninghman has recent interest from Wright State and most likely will make a choice by Christmas. Brogden is getting interest from Low Major programs like Central Conntecuit State and Liberty.
