1 WSU 2 Butler 3 UWM 4 Green Bay 5 Valpo 6 Loyola 7 Cleveland State 8 Youngstown State 9 Detroit 10 UIC I like your picks fastbreak, the only change I would make is switching UIC and YSU.

1 UWM - I may be being a homer, but when you see this team, you won't think I'm completely out of my mind.
2 Butler - A.J. Graves and the Farmers have serious skill.
3 Detroit - Isn't Brandon Cotton eligible for social security?
4 WSU - Wood is a HUGE loss. It'll be interesting to see who steps into that role.
5 UW-Green Bay - New logo, same result; mediocrity
6 Loyola - Polka and Leon Young are a formidable tandem.
7 Valpo - They're in for a rude awakening. This ain't no MCC. Wait. Damn. Let me try that again. This ain't no Mid-Con.
8 CSU - 7Up recently signed on to have their Spot become the mascot of CSU. You're telling me he already is? Damn!
9 Youngstown State - Hey, at least they're not UIC.
10 UIC - 'Hey, are we actually looking up at YSU?' I guess members of their coaching staff like getting a look at other teams' bottoms.

WSU - best coach in the league. Under-appreciated team. UWM - Solid talent and coaching. Not much size. Butler - They will miss Crone and Lickliter more than they realize. Valpo - Very good coach. Decent talent. Green Bay - Decent team + very bad coach = mediocre Loyola - No outside game means Polka and Young get smothered by zone defenses all year long. Cleveland State - 10 new players will be introduced to failing the CSU way. YSU - Good coach, bad team. Detroit - They finished in 8th last year with Covile. Without him, they will finish 9th. UIC - Probably Jimmy's last season of embarrassing the HL.

It's a 3 horse race between Butler, UWM, and WSU. Everyone else is playing for 4th place.

My heart is with bballraider's picks, but my mind says Jay & Silent Bob is probably right.

Butler - They will miss Crone and Lickliter, but they have enough returners and a good enough recruiting class to finish first. They won't dominate like last year. WSU - We do have the best coach in the league, IMO. I like how we match up with the rest of the league with our newly acquired size and depth. UWM - They could just as easily finish in first as the could third. They had some good young guards last year with only Paige Paulsen underneath. This year they add transfer Torre Johnson and a few other talented forwards. They are still small inside, but very athletic. Green Bay - They have a pretty good core of returning players and a good recruiting class. Poor coaching drops them down to fourth place. Valpo - They have a very good coach and a decent returning team, but they don't have enough to compete day in and day out in the HL yet. Loyola - I agree with Willie. Polka and Young are going to struggle without Schilb and Kou spreading the defense out. Cleveland State - They have a long way to go. YSU - They lost a lot to graduation. Detroit - They lost Covile and didn't add anyone. UIC - This program is a mess.

It's a 3 horse race between Butler, UWM, and WSU. Everyone else is playing for 4th place. I prefer to think WSU is first and everyone else is playing for second.

1. Butler: They have the most experienced guard tandem in a guard oriented league. 2. WSU: Losing Wood will hurt big time, but we have depth and size for the first time that I can remember. 3. UWM: A lot of unproven players but enough overall talent that they should have a solid rotation of guys. 4. UWGB: Good talent. Poor coaching. 5. Loyola: They lost their top two guys but Whitesell is a solid coach. 6. Valpo: I really don't know a lot about them, but they are young and return most of last year's team. 7. CSU: They are on the rise, but they might not be ready for prime time yet. 8. Detroit: They were not that good last year and seemed to have lost more than they added. 9. UIC: Jimmy Collins is back and they lost their top player. 10. YSU: Lost their two best players and no replacements.
