This is a big opportunity for Wood. It would be great to see him make the Clippers team for the 2008-2009 season, since LAC recently lost Brand and Maggette.

If he was anything but a PG, there would be a good chance of him making the Clippers' roster. The one thing they have is PGs. (And their head coach might soon be in prison for murdering David Falk. Just a hunch.) DaShaun will be back in Italy this year and I'm very happy for him. Bill Edwards had a very successful and financially prosperous career in Europe and it looks like DaShaun is on pace for an even better one. It's kind of fitting that the two best four-year players in school history are taking the same path in their professional careers. All that being said, I will be thrilled if DaShaun is able to get his chance in the NBA. But I foresee a very long career for him in Europe. The summer league isn't about making a specific roster like the Clippers. It's about being seen vs NBA talent to showcase yourself. DaShaun wasn't on the Clipper's bench last night. He was added to their roster late, so he might not have even been in Vegas yet last night. He has a week another week to show off what he can do. Let's let thing play out before you write off his NBA career chances.

This has already been decided by DaShaun and DaShaun's agent like I said. Is this speculation on your part or fact? Why sign with a summer league team if you don't intend to play?

It's pure speculation on his part.
