Does anyone know if we will be having a midnight madness type of event to see the team before the start of the season? I don't think we have had one for quite a while. We used to have "Halloween hoopla" a few years ago but we never had a great turnout.

Halloween Hoopla was never successful for many reasons. It was always held on a week night in the main arena at the Nutter center with both the men's and women's teams. It was never advertised about much and our teams were not very good back then.
We should hold it on a Saturday morning in the McLinn gym and only have it for the men's team. No offense to the ladies team, but no one wanted to come to the Nutter center and sit in a 90% empty arena and have to sit through 30 minutes of women's basketball to see the men's team. The McLinn gym is a more appropriate setting for the small crowd.

These midnight madness/halloween hoopla type of events count against the number of hours our team is allowed to practice in the week. I know Coach Brownell would prefer to run a hard practice rather than a glorified scrimmage for a few fans. I think we are going to have to wait for our first exhibition to see the guys play.

I would like to watch a practice in the Mills Morgan Center ... I need it bad! C'mon Bob let us none big-time contributors in! Don't blame Bob. Coach Brownell doesn't like to have his practices open to the public.

You can't blame him. I wouldn't want a bunch of fans distracting my players in practice either.

I agree ... I don't want to be a distraction. I just need some hoops boys. This should be a great season and I can't wait for our first game! I'd love to be a fly on the wall at practice too, but I understand Coach B's position. It's too bad we don't have a midnight madness type of event.
