I think the Horizon as a whole is still better than last year, but it seems that it is taking much longer to gel as teams than I would have expected. This could hurt the league in the long run as the HL is not picking up good RPI wins now, and will probably beat up on each other in league play, which most likely means only one team gets in the tourney, unless somebody (hopefully WSU), can start running up some big wins soon.

I am watching UWM and Marquette in a very entertaining game It's 33-31 UWM after 12 minutes of play. UWM is much better than last year. They will be a tough game when they come to town.
UIC has also looked good against DePaul so far, they are down 1 at the half 34-33.
Both teams have seem to implode early in the second half though and go down by double digits.
UIC has recovered and tied the game with 2 minutes left. UWM down by 11 midway through 2nd half.

DePaul 67 UIC 63
Mayo barely misses a 3pt shot with 4 seconds left that could have won the game, DePaul then hits 2 free throws for the 4 pt difference in the game.

UWM 80 DePaul 100
UWM couldn't keep up the hot shooting in the second half, and then they got into foul trouble. Watch their freshman Tone Boyle, the kid can flat out shoot the ball from anywhere.
Valpo was losing to Iona by about 20 with about minute left in the game.

bball, every year we have fans telling us how much better the recruits are in the horizon and how much better the teams are. then with few exceptions, we fall on our collective faces in big nonconference games. we have a chance at a quality win at home against isu, and we blow it. csu has a bcs team at home and they get hammered. those are supposed to be the two best teams in the horizon and the results are bad. look at the list of opportunities for good wins by decent horizon league teams and they are almost all losses. and bball, if you look at the rest of our non con schedule, we only have one more chance at a "good win". wake forest would be a great win, but nothing else we play will impact our name on the national stage. GO RAIDERS!!!!!11
