I think they should try to sell advertising before they come to us for money. If they need to cover the cost after advetising then I say charge a small fee.

The quality better be better then it is. I think right now unless you have a superfast internet connection and a good computer, the feed is usually not that good. We all knew it was going to happen sooner or later.

I knew this was eventually coming so I don't mind it... BUT... The quality better be a hell of a lot better than it has been. I know they say the quality will be upgraded, but it has been shitty most of the time. Wright State home games are usually the worst. For some reason, the audio is always a half-second off. I've never noticed this in the many WSU road games I've watched on HLN. But every WSU home game, the audio is messed up. And every HLN game that I watch home or road skips a ton. I don't mind them charging for it. But get ready for 1,000 complaints per game if the quality isn't much improved. You can get away with that shit when you are giving the product away for free. Start charging for it, it better be good quality. I've only had a problem with skipping a few times here or there. It's never really been much of an issue for me. I paid to watch the games online in Chatanooga last year and the quality was much worse than anything I have ever seen on the HLN. When all is said and done, I think people are going to complain because they are going to have to pay for something that used to be free. Those people have a choice. They can just go to the Nutter Center to watch the games. They can pay to watch online or they can just listen to the radio like they used to have to do.

Blitz, I agree the timing wasn't good. I think tournament time makes sense for a test of interest for next year, but they should have announced this weeks ago. I also agree the quality needs to improve across the board. Some schools were light years better than others. If you read the press release closely, they talk about upgrading the quality with more cameras, etc so I have hopes that this will work.

Side note: You can get into ESPN360 if you have AT&T DSL service. Apparently somewhere along the way they signed a deal. However, Road Runner customers are out of luck. I'm not sure of the situation with other ISP's.

I just checked the HLN. You can pay for tonight's game with a Visa, Master Card, or American Express.

The quality of the feed tonight was great. If this is what we can expect next year for all games, I'll be happy to pay.

I think the HLN achieved what they were looking for last night. They put on a good show and it sounds like a lot of fans tuned in from around the HL.
