Coach Underhill will be missed by everyone who ever met him. I have spent much of today fluctuating between grief for the loss of my friend and anger at WSU for they way they rid themselves of him and have failed to honor him for everything he did for the university. Our president and AD need to pull their heads out of their asses and do what is right and honor the man appropriately.

Big D- Are you aware of any such plans? Do you see a high possibility of it happening in the future?

www.homage.com/store/tees-tops/t-shirts/college/wright-state/wright-state-champsAfter only 13 seasons of sponsoring the sport, Wright State University’s men’s basketball team won the 1982-83 NCAA Division II title with a record of 24-8. Under head coach Ralph Underhill, the Raiders’ averaged a double-digit margin of victory through the regionals and handily dispatched the University of the District of Columbia 92-73 in the finals. It was the first and last Division II title for Wright State, as the program made the jump to Division I into 1987 (and qualified for the NCAA tournament in ’93 and ’07).

RIP Coach. I doubt WSU will cave in on naming the court after him, even now. I hope Coach Donlon has our team wear a black patch on our jerseys all season in honor of Coach Underhill.

A great coach. Such a shame the court was not named after him when he was healthy...Thanks coach Underhill for all the success you brought to WSU +1.

Wow, this is really a sad day for Wright State and Dayton. Ralph laid the foundation for the current success the program has enjoyed.
I hope that everytime a Raider fan walks into the Nutt House, they remember Ralph Underhill, because it is the house that Ralph built. I agree that he should be honored by naming the court after him.
RIP Ralph.
