We have another Fan Advisory Meeting this week, are there any ideas or thoughts that you would like us to bring up to Mark? This will be our 1st meeting since the season has started so it should be interesting to get everyone's thoughts.
The parking at the Nutter Center is a joke. Lot #1, which is reserved for season ticket holders, is now less than half full at game times this year. Meanwhile, other fans coming to a game for maybe the first time get sent clear accross the lake to park. I've heard many complaints about parking, ingress and egress before and after games, and until this is fixed, its keeping many potential customers from coming back to games.

Parking sucks at the Nutter Center. It always has. It has been said that the plan is to fill in a portion of the pond over the next 3-5 years and reconfigure parking. I think Grant has his priorities screwed up. We spent a ton of money on our new center scoreboard. Parking should have been our number one priority to fix and we could have replaced the scoreboard in another year or 2.
We really need to get rid of the pond all together and reconfigure every single lot to improve the flow of traffic on game days.

I read on here and RRB about season ticket holders being upset over the cost of tickets and the lack of perks since WSU took away the all-sports pass. Well I have an idea that I think our AD should consider to get our fan-base re-energized and it should help with traffic flow problems at the Nutter Center and it would be pretty darn inexpensive. They opened the area up in the open end of the Nutter Center a few years back for season ticket holders to eat and drink before games as a luxury area and it never really took off. The new Frickers area at the top of the Nutter center seems to be getting a ton of traffic since it opened 2 games ago.
My plan would be for athletics to open up the Berry Room 1 hour before games for season ticket holders. I would have a frickers food and a bar area there to sell food. For the first 30 minutes it is open, I would play highlights of WSU's previous game on a few big screens. At 30 minutes before tip off I would play another 10 minute exclusive video interview of Chris Collins interviewing Coach Donlon on our keys for that days game and how WSU will try to play the game to our advantage. After the video fans could stay in the Berry room and continue to mingle or head to their seats in the Nutter Center. We could call it the Coach's chalk talk lounge or something like that. I think it would be a huge hit with season ticket holders. You would help NC traffic because many season ticket holders would try to get to the NC much earlier so they could mingle at the lounge and hear Coach's keys to the game. Fans would love it because they get a chance to mingle, eat and drink, and hear the inside scoop from Coach Donlon before the game on what we are going to try to do to win. And lets face it, have you ever heard Coach Donlon talk and not gone away impressed. As to WSU, I think it will help season ticket sales and could even be a little bit of a money maker through Frickers and bar sales.
Who knows. If the event gets really popular, WSU could open it up to season ticket holders for away games too. I know I would love to hang out with a bunch of other Raider fans in the Berry Room and watch the HLN feed for the game on a big screen rather than watch it at home on my PC alone. Once again, it wouldn't cost much at all for WSU and they would probably make some pretty good money off of food and bar sales. Not to mention, they would have a really happy fan-base.
What does everyone think?

I am not yet a season-ticket holder, as I am not yet an alumni, and although I will be buying season tickets regardless come next year whether an idea like this is implemented or not, I would say that this, to me, would be an AWESOME perk to have with my season tickets. Sounds very cool.

I think they used to open the Berry Room to season ticket holders before games and it was discontinued due to lack of interest.

I'd love to do something creative like this to get students involved in the games and the program. This video is amazing. Students are silent until team scores its 10th point and then absolutely go nuts.

Unfortunately it took us until about 5 minutes left in the half for us to get to 10 points and they went nuts because we finally made back to back shots. Being serious though, I think WSU forming any kind of traditions that would get our students involved in the game is a good idea.

What happened to all this talk about teaching a dance or something? I think it sounds like a goofy idea but anyways, I thought they were going to start some traditions this year or something?

It's being recorded and hopefully put on on Facebook and twitter this week. Don't know what the moves are or what the song is. All I know is we're gonna try to pull it off vs butler. Not sure how it's gonna work but we'll see

Back to the topic of this thread: Marketing and Promotion for MEN's BASKETBALL. Does anyone know when the next fan advisory meeting is to take place?
