Back to the topic of this thread: Marketing and Promotion for MEN's BASKETBALL. Does anyone know when the next fan advisory meeting is to take place? Just because I'm an ignorant student I was wondering if you could enlighten me a bit about what the fan advisory meetings are. Are students allowed at these?

Just because I'm an ignorant student I was wondering if you could enlighten me a bit about what the fan advisory meetings are. Are students allowed at these? Season ticket holders were randomly asked to join a fan advisory committee with Mark Gazdik this summer. I believe they meet once a month and discuss all of the good and bad things about going to WSU basketball games and try to come up with ideas to make the game day experience better. I believe this is for season ticket holders only. The athletic department already meets with the Raider Rowdies to get the student's input.

FAC members were chosen from respondents to the Survey that was on the WSU website this summer. You didn't have to be a season ticket holder to get an invitation.

I know there's at least one person on the committee that is not a season ticket holder - might be more.

I believe our fans did go nuts after we scored 10 points at our last home game. Unfortunately it took us until about 5 minutes left in the half for us to get to 10 points and they went nuts because we finally made back to back shots. Being serious though, I think WSU forming any kind of traditions that would get our students involved in the game is a good idea. Yes, I agree. What happened to all this talk about teaching a dance or something? I think it sounds like a goofy idea but anyways, I thought they were going to start some traditions this year or something? Here's the WSU "Spark Dance" Here's the UNI student section performing the "Interlude Dance" Anyone notice any similarities? This is the 1st I've seen the dance in any of its stages of creation.

I like the creativity and the attempt to instill more tradition with WSU basketball. Being a realist though, I am not sure this will look all that impressive with the 8 students actually standing at every game. Butler might be the only game where this could actually work. Hopefully I am wrong about this.

An effort made, but a cheap and lazy effort imho. I really think they looked at the UNI video and decided to make a minor change or two. What a waste.

I just went and watched the UNI video and I agree with you on the lack of creativity and I rescind that from my post lol. I kind of hope they don't even try to go through with this. It's embarrassing enough to watch the students in the video try to pull this "dance" off.

I understand they are trying to do something but that effort was awful. I also hope it does not go through. I know I will not be a part of something so unoriginal and embarrassing; the students who go to one or two games during the season will not be participating as well.

I'm typically there for every home game, but I may have to slide away from the student section for this one. I hate to be condescending, as I've never made any recommendations in regards to what traditions we should start, but I simply can't see this happening. And as for the student government prez leading this (in the vid), I never see him at the games, so I'm not sure what he's doing. Maybe he's always there and I just never notice.

This is why our student section sucks. Our students are usually too lazy to attend games and if they do come they think they are too cool to get involved.
