Anyone getting tired of the 'by the numbers' articles? The 'paper' is constantly running articles about that 'other' team; their recruiting, practices, etc.
All we're getting is 'by the numbers' bull$hit. I know, I know, it's the uDDN, but come on! Seems like lazy reporting to me...

There are several UD articles on recruiting now because they have 4 scholarships to fill still and have been having several recruits on campus. Nagel wrote several similar recruiting articles this summer on WSU recruits.

I'm actually glad Kyle is running the "by the numbers" articles because, like was mentioned, there is nothing else going on so the alternative is no mention of WSU in the paper at all. He's had articles about the HL and conference shakeups and an article about the new scoreboard and interview with Mark Gazdik in the past week as well. We're in the off season and still getting almost daily press. I've got no problem with the current coverage.

I think the quality is far above what it has been in the past before Kyle took over reporting on WSU. However, there's nothing wrong with wanting more than simple 'numbers' breakdowns, etc. How about some human interest stuff? Like, is Balwigaire on campus? Why the perceived (or otherwise) delay? Speculations as to the additional scholarship opening for 2012? How about our two walk-ons, what's their stories? I'm not asking for CSI-style investigations here, but there's nothing wrong with wanting a bit more than something I can simply glean from the stat pages on ESPN.com.

If you go back and read all of Kyle's articles and blogs, he already answered most of those questions. Balwigaire is on campus. He had to fiish up a summer course at his JC before he could transfer to WSU. He asked Yoho and Donlon about where we were getting the the extra scholarship for 2012. Neither would answer the question. Donlon said we would know in due time. The only topic he didn't cover was about the walk ons.

In case any season ticket holders haven't checked their email (and FYI to others)...the Athletic Dept. sent out a flyer allowing season ticket holders the opportunity to purchase official WSU replica jerseys with their choice of any number for $50. Pretty sweet to have the replica jerseys available like some of the other mid-major schools (Butler and Xavier I know for sure have them). I picked up one of Vaughn's old #44 jerseys at one of the auctions last year but I'm excited to grab a new one (new style jersey this year) in a size that actually remotely fits me Word is there are going to be additional perks such as this made available to season ticket holders to make them more a part of the program and to show more appreciation to them. So if you've been on the fence for picking up season tix - now is the time!

According to Kyle Nagel, we have added a 3rd walk on for this season: Freshman Ulysses Thomas from Princeton High School.
