I'm excited to see this facility open. Should tie campus together a little better and offers many opportunities for the University

If I remember right, the lake was to make sure ground water was drained away from the Nutter Center. I know UD Arena flooded a few years ago because of that problem. I am sure there are probably things that can be dne now to alleviate that problem that weren't available then.

WSU paid $1M for president in 2014 www.mydaytondailynews.com/news/news/wsu-paid-1m-for-president-in-2014/nkxPw/#94f67280.3613777.735707I'm no journalist, but it seems the story would have a bit more integrity if the total compensations packages were revealed for all these other in-state university presidents, rather than just the base salaries. The entire article nearly centers around the WSU total compensation, and makes comparison to the base salaries elsewhere. I love apples to oranges comparisons veiled in apples to apples comparisons. Another stellar article by the DDN. It's really too bad the writer is a WSU graduate; makes you wonder what the editors omitted from the the original story (simply my non-journalist biased take). Regardless, again, we're slammed at every corner it seems...or perhaps I'm just salty. :-)

In my opinion, President Hopkins deserves every dime of his salary and I hope that he'll be with us for many years to come.

I agree CincyDrummer but, I think raidergrad98's point was not to confuse what the university paid for Hopkins and what would be considered as salary. If something like long term healthcare is a one-time thing then you could consider it in one year or amortize it over the length of the contract but, it still wouldn't necessarily be considered as salary. I don't like going to up to students and giving them the impression the writer's slant was an accurate depiction of the situation. ( I'm not a writer either and, I'm tired and need some sleep ).
