I cannot imagine our attendance is going to be good with this home slate:
NORTH CAROLINA A&T MOREHEAD STATE VMI MIAMI MOUNT ST. JOSEPH

Weak schedule. We better come out swinging and win a lot of these games if we want to keep our fanbase. The only thing worse than losing like last year is losing to crappy teams. I really hope the new roster and new offense works.

I really hope the new roster and new offense works. This is the kind of schedule we should have had last year. We had too many new faces last year and played a killer schedule that didn't give our team much of a chance to gel or learn their roles. We have too many new faces again this year. With this weaker schedule we should be able to go through some growing pains and still have a chance to have some success. I'm not excited about this schedule, but I am excited to see this team play.

Sixth Man, I thought the Italy trip would provide a bump to last season but, I'll let others decide if calling this a weak schedule is being a little generous. The posting on wsuraiders.com uses today as the release date and it showed up in this thread before most people woke up. My guess is that the timing ( holiday weekend and all ) was meant to avoid a lot of cursing from callers. Hey, the cost is less ( please don't notice that there are two less home games and please don't notice that home contests against the likes of UC, OU, and Butler are also absent ). Sad to say that no game is easy but, the casual fan has no reason to go a game if any top 25 team is on the tube those nights.

Not a whole lot to get excited for this year.

Are we playing these home games at the Nutter Center or at Stebbins? If my wife wants to take a trip or two during Nov. and Dec. I can't think of any reason to object. We could sweep our non-conference games at home this year and not impress anyone for the most part. The women's schedule looks much better. Like last season I'll try to make all of their games.

It's been 24 hrs and still no story on the DDN website yet. I am disappointed in WSU for this, but I'm more disappointed in our new beat writer at the DDN. I got very spoiled by our last beat writer. He had almost daily WSU blog entries. Our new writer has been less than impressive so far.

This schedule is crap and it was always meant to be a crap. Donlon basically confirmed that to our beat writer who tweated this yesterday: Wright State coach Billy Donlon: Schedule released today would have been out in May if Butler hadn't left Horizon. Had to find 2 more games. So this crappy schedule has almost completely been done for 4 months now. Seems like Donlon is smart enough to know that he is on the hot seat after last year's crappy performance. He is willing to change up his offensive philosophy and is playing a much weaker schedule on purpose. He can blame 2 games on Butlers leaving, but he put the rest of this crap together months ago.

Probably beating a dead horse here, but I'm really sick of us playing DIII opponets. The schedule is weak enough already and then BD lines up some Bovine Fecal matter like DIII Mount Saint Josephs. I now know why my friend keithfromxenia threw in the towel and said sayonara to Raider Basketball. Last year was the first year I intentionally decided not to attend several home games. In the past, the only time I missed a home game if there was some other type of function on my schedule that I couldn't miss. Sadly I will be a no show again this year for more than a few of these home games.

It could be worse. We could be UD fans and think this is an elite non-conference schedule.

Sorry to read all the negative comments, deserved or not. I will be there and I will enjoy My fear is that we will be the only ones there. There isn't anything on our OOC schedule that is going to attract casual fans.

I plan on driving up from Cincinnati for every home game that I can. Now is definitely not the time to start skipping games just because of a weak schedule. Opti, I love your comment about simply being healthy enough to enjoy a good game of basketball; it's the little things.
My brother and sister are Miami alumni and I really, really hope that both parties (WSU/MIAMI) find ways to keep one another on the schedule.

980 am was killing the WSU schedule this afternoon. The two hosts were even WSU guys but said they would probably only go to the UC game down there and maybe the Miami game. Although they had no idea what teams were in the Utah tournament and joked maybe Utah was one of them so they didn't come across all that informed. Probably not unlike the general public tho...
