We had a strange twosome at the PG last year. There was Reggie, who loved to shoot, as proven by his team leading 300+ shots, but an under 40% from the field. And on the other hand we had Joe, who was very reluctant to shoot. I always wondered why Drummond couldn't work himself into more playing time for himself, because in his limited role he showed me that the potential was there to be a solid PG.

Really? I know it is easy to bash players after they decide to leave. Why not post this last week or last month? Pick on someone that will be back, if you think it will make you feel better. Maybe you should check out the board more often during the season. You can find the same type of comments from me about Joe in many game threads. I was never a fan and wanted his minutes to go to Dixon all season long.

So what are you whining about, he got his release...pretty sure you can let it go and wait for the next player to pick on. Nothing wrong in saying something nice about Miles ( maybe some of what Jay Bruce said about twits on twitter carry over ).

We are discussing D1 basketball here, not pee wee ball where everyone gets a trophy for trying really hard.

three thoughts, first, i have never understood why folks get worked up about fans criticizing players. frankly, raider fans are pretty patient and indy raider's criticisms were pretty mild and surely agreed with by many fans. fact that he is leaving really has nothing to do with it. second, i believe hopkins is a shooting guard. i do not think he had anything to do with bobo and joe leaving. they are our only backup pg behind reggie. too bad bobo did not see it as an opportunity. third, bd cntinues to bring in freshmen who do not seem able to compete at our level. unless i am forgetting someone we had 4 freshmen come on this year and 3 of them are gone. looking back the past couple of years that seems to be the pattern. bd has brought some excellent jc players, but we need to do a better job of recruiting freshmen who can have an impact. mid major programs excell by bringing in quality freshmen and developing them and if most of ours bail out after a year or so we will never have a chance to develop a quality group of juniors/seniors. i do not think you can build a quality mid major program with jc players primarliy.

Donlon brought in 5 freshman. Davis and Yoho are returning next year.

Wright State's Matt Vest had hip surgery after season. Asked if he could miss all of next season, Billy Donlon said, "Anything's possible." linkThat's the first quote I've seen that Vest might not be ready to play next year. It explains why we signed 2 more guards in the late signing period though.

I like hearing we found a few guards who can come in and hopefully get some immediate action..and won't have the true freshman look of death in their eyes. I'm not real savvy on the transfer/injury etc. rules, but if Vest's injury/healing process is lengthy, can he take a medical redshirt and then play in the 14-15 season if he's taking graduate classes?
