Thanks BigD. I knew ascholarship couldn't be spilt, such as tuition versus books/room and board, but I thought that maybe they could be split along semester lines.

Daniel Meyer is taking Ryan Bowie's scholarship. Bowie is no longer with the team according to David Jablonski.

I guess if you had to choose one to lose, you would choose one that we don't really know. Trading a point guard for a big man is a fair trade, especially if Meyer works out. Good luck to Ryan. Sorry it didn't work out for you to play at Wright State. Opti Bowie is a shooting guard and a very good one at that. He had a year of JUCO experience under his belt and he shot 44% from 3 last season. We could have used that kind of shooting off the bench this year to help this team. Meyer is a big man that is behind Pacher and Sledge on the depth chart. He is going to get mop up minutes this year or he might even red-shirt. I am glad we have him, but I am also bummed about what we lost in Bowie.

I hear what you are saying, but when all is said and done I would much rather have a big man with potential than a SG. Shooting guards are a dime a dozen even at the mid-major level. Finding a good big man at the mid-major level is hard. I like Meyer's potential and look forward to seeing what he will bring to the table. even if he doesn't contribute much his first year or 2.

AJ tweeted today that he's getting a CT scan. Not sure what the injury is or the extent.

Is this something the public can go and watch or are they closed tryouts?

Unless you know someone trying out the walk-on tryouts are a snooze to watch. When I managed under Brownell, Donlon had them do dribble drills up and down the court to start. 90% of the guys were on the floor gasping for breath after just a couple of drills. (We're talking between the legs down and back type stuff) It was pretty embarrassing to watch and took less than an hour before Donlon just ended it if I recall correctly.
