Not condoning what Masiello did. It was wrong. However, he was hired to do a job and it appears he did it well--with both the on and off court results.
If that's all he did then he deserves some mercy. I'm sure wherever he goes he can work out some probationary agreement and actually earn his degree, if he's lacking. This reminds me of the George O'Leary situation...Former Georgia Tech football coach who accepted the Notre Dame job and was later found out he too lied about a college degree. I'm pretty sure UCF is happy with his job performance...and it's irrelevant if he had a Master's or not.
Just imagine what we would learn if our politicians couldn't lock-up their college transcripts...would the media care as much as they do about a college football and basketball coach?
