It may have been mentioned before but just in case - Top 4 seeds get a bye in the HL tournament this year due to Milwaukee being ineligible. Double bye for the top 2 seeds, single bye for seeds 3 and 4.

Right now getting into the top 4 looks like it may be beyond our reach. I think we may have to sweep all our games with Mil., UDM, Oakland, and UIC. That will be a tall order.

Based on the twitter comments from Kendall Griffin's father, it looks like Kendall has decided to retire from college basketball. Whole situation stinks - I really feel for him. If he is done, I hope he gets to put on the green and gold at least one more time on Senior Night so I can thank him properly.

i think that is a wise decision for kg's health. I have no idea how the decision was arrived at but sometimes the "adults" need to override the competitive instincts of the player. raiders will miss him but it is the right call.

Totally agree with it being the right call. I was surprised he came back after the last one...I'm not a doctor by any means, but it must be significantly more common to get a concussion if you've had one before...
I know a lot of people are probably thinking this, but I will come out and say it.
KG went down last year against Oakland on what was an OBVIOUS dirty play by Petros...then we go to Oakland and steal one on a Pacher layup with under a second to play. Now we play them this season and KG gets hit again (obviously not the intent that Petros showed) and now his career is over. Got to say, I'm not too thrilled with the overall play of Oakland since they joined our conference. Then you add in the announcers the other night deliberately calling for what I would consider an 'unsporting play'...just seems like they lack some class...not to mention the hot head Kampe on the sideline. Quickly becoming a team I really hate to watch.

Hate to tell you I told you so...I figured Yoho would be out longer than they initially stated. The only thing we should be playing for this season is to set up the team better for next season, and to try to keep our red shirt guys from leaving the program. We've got no Griffin, the return of S. Davis continues to get pushed back, and now we are hearing the same for Yoho.
You can tell from the lack of posts on the GB page that everyone is deflated with all of this depressing news. It's been a very disheartening year, going all the way back to the off-season issues. I hope we can win a couple of our home games down the stretch and send out seniors out on a positive note. But this season is in the running for one of the worst since joining the Horizon League.
It's really like nothing is going right. I think winning this league is two fold, protecting your home court, and staying healthy. These are things we have struggled with under Billy.
Last thought- BB took us to 4 20 win seasons in a row with 12 or 13 conference wins in each season. In 4 seasons we lost a total of 4 home conferences games under BB...we've got a damn good shot of setting that mark in just this season under BD.
In conference home loses under BD 2010- 3 home loses 2011- 4 home loses 2012- 3 home loses 2013- 3 home loses 2014- 2 home loses so far, 5 more to play

I am relieved to hear that KG is retiring from playing basktetball. I wish he had stopped even before now. I think anyone following sports knows that the more concussions one has the more prone you are for others to follow. I thought he should have stopped after the one at home versus Oakland last year. He is an outstanding young man and I wish him the very best going forward.

Chrishawn Hopkins has been voted into the State Farm Dark Horse dunk competition that Jerran Young was in last year. If i remember correctly JY lost in the semis.
