I thought the game last night was fun to watch. I think Otterbien felt good with the game they played while we ended up with four bench players scoring double digits and Stanton pulling down 18 boards. My only concern was when Breanna Stucke appeared to take a knee to her temple while going for a loose ball on the floor. She was down for awhile and appeared to be in a fog when walking off the court with assistance. After getting attention on the bench and spending a number of minutes there she returned to action. It seemed like much of the second half was played mostly with the four non-starters along with one or sometimes two starters.
The women will host Chicago State on Dec. 29th at 7PM and Central State on the 31st at noon. I would urge you to come out to see this very good team.
We have six seniors on the team, but Demmings was injured in the first two minutes of the opener and is out for the season. Abby Jump has not played this year as well. I have not heard what her status is. Does anyone know?

Wolf41, I knew Abby was on the AIA trip with Breanna this past Summer so, I assumed she had played but, someone associated with the women's program told me she was not able to play. Guess that means she hasn't really played since last season. Happy to see her at the games though. It isn't up to me ( not that I know anything ) to say anything...if it hasn't been put out there as to what the problem is, let's just say what is the opposite of front?

Didn't get a chance to watch any of the game on HLN ( looking forward to being there Wednesday afternoon ) but happy to see that Abby Jump saw some action for the first time this season.

The women looked very good last night. The new women have been getting a lot of PT so far, for the most part. C. Patterson from PA had played 176 minutes prior to last night and has averaged 6.5 points per game. J. Williams from IN had 225 minutes and had averaged 6.1 points. L. Smith from IL had played 156 minutes and had averaged 4.9 points. K. Hinton from MI has been injured and has only played in 7 games up to last night, but she has 37 minutes and averaged .7 points. The 6'5" young lady from The Netherlands, R. van der Keijl, had played in 10 games for 78 minutes, averaging 3.4 points and 2.7 boards.
I was surprised to see a sophomore from Sidnet, OH playing for Chicago State. I watched her during warm ups and she appeared to be a very mature player for CS and a very good shooter. She scored 11 points for them, second on the team, and played a very solid game. She was leading the team in minutes played and didn't hurt herself in that regard last night as she was usually on the court. There appeared to be a bit of support for her in the stands.

Got a chance to catch the women's game this afternoon on ESPN3.. The women started a little slow, and Central State actually had the early lead, but once we got going offensively, the women could not be slowed down. Mike Bradbury distributed the minutes throughout, and gave lots of players substantial minutes. The women broke the record they set earlier in the season against Otterbein, scoring 118 point in the win, the most in Raider history. 5 Raiders scored in double figures, and really put it to the Marauders of CSU. 11 Raiders scored in the contest. The raiders shot 56.8% playing in the smaller McLin gym.
Final from McLin gymnasium WSU 118 Central State 70

Good to see a basketball team set high scoring records here at WSU.
