Anytime you are up 13 points and lose, you've got nobody to blame but yourselves. We can hope for a better outcome tomorrow.

This game was lost because WSU is undersized. Donlon was out coached. The refs stunk. The WSU players were worn out at the end of the game. Donlon needs to recruit more big men, good big men will beat good little men almost every time. Now that our RPI is screwed and an at large bid is history, if in fact it was ever in play, Donlon needs to play everyone and focus on being fresh for league play.

I have watched a lot of basketball by college teams and have not seen a winning coach that uses a BD style. He would make a good high school or maybe DII coach. He doesn't have that killer attitude and pass it on to his players. His style seems to take the air out of the sails of his players instead of the opposition. We jumped out to a big lead with aggressive play on both ends of the court. Then it was back to his we don't want to lose attitude instead of we are going to win attitude.

We should have a 6-9, 240# 4th year center on this roster, but he couldn't stay out of trouble. That is the reason we are undersized and undermanned this year.

Hate to keep blaming the coach, but any kind of interior presence and we could have easily won this game. They made the adjustment at halftime to pound it inside, and get easy shots at the rim, or draw contact. We're lucky that they weren't great at the line, because they shot over 30 FTs. This going to be the mission of all the teams we are going to play, and as long as we have small bigs like Yoho playing the 4, or S Davis or Karena playing the 5, we are going to lose this battle. Because of this, we have to play to the outside, and hope that we have a good night shooting jump shots.
It doesn't help that when we are up, (as previously mentioned) we lose our tenacity and play timid with our tails between our legs. Tonight we lost to a below average team, who is expected to do absolutely nothing in their conference. If we can't keep chops with them, imagine what some of the intra-league teams we have to play are going to do with big guys that are substantially bigger and more athletic than ours. We are going to be beat up all season. This is going to lead to what we seem to ALSO experience year in and year out, is injuries. We've already had one major injury to our team, and it wouldn't surprise me if there are more.
We might be faster than a lot of teams we play, but that isn't going to win many games...You can win a sprint, but you won't win a marathon sprinting the whole way. I think this loss epitomizes what our season is going to be. We're going to be in a lot of games, and we probably won't get blown out too often, but we can very easily be beat on the inside, especially if Karena or Davis get into early foul trouble.

09, I disagree in part. We came out playing a fast tempo game and had the taller slower team on their heals. Then after the timeout with the Raiders ahead. Bad then went to his slow down half court game which is the strength of the opponent. His coaching techniques are not going to produce winning teams in this basketball world. There is a hall of fame coach by the name of Hank Iba. He had great teams at Oklahoma A & M, now Oklahoma State. He played a slowed down game when the shot clock came into the game his strategy was kaput. He soon retired because of this change. Bad can win with this team if he plays 9-10 players at a fast pace and wears down the taller slower teams. His coaching style needs to be the game your personel and opposition gives you.

I hope BD coaches to the strength of this team and not to the strength of the opposition again. If we try the slow down half court game we won't fare very well. Just like yesterday when BD changed the style of play.
