It was closer than we wanted it to be but I'll take it.

Good win, Raiders. Love beating local schools.

A win over UM is never a bad thing. We pretty much had the same type of game that UD had with them (up by 15, lead cut to 4, pull away at the end).
1) I think Chrishawn's knees are worse than we know. He doesn't look nearly as quick and explosive, and you can tell it is impacting him mentally too. I too am a little confused as to why Reggie was bypassed by Howell. Reggie didn't score much but he didn't play bad (had 5 assists, and they were great passes too). That said, I am glad that Howell got experience in a late-game situation---he showed some big-time composure when he knocked down those 4 freebies. He also played very good D.
2) Benzinger and Mitchell are going to be studs. Those two guys, along with Thomasson next year, will give us the best backcourt in the HL. Throw in Alstork and Howell into the mix, and that is a quality group of five. Hopefully Evans comes along too.
3) Yoho played the worst "great game" I can remember. He had a lot of points and boards but several careless passes throughout the game.
4) Thomasson is like a cross between N'Gai and Dashuan. He looks like N'Gai when he drives and finishes, and rebounds and plays D like Dashuan. If he can improve his outside shot a little (because it's not bad as it is), and he could be the best player in the HL.
In October, if you'd have told me that Yoho would be suspended 2 games, that Sledge would be done, that Griffin would only play a half of 1 game, and that Hop would be battling knee problems, I would not have thought this team would be 5-4 against D-I teams at this stage of the season. If this team stays together, it can make a run at an HL tourney title.

We played a solid first half and less so the second half. Nice game by Karena, making 5 of 7; Yoho, scoring a game high 18 and getting 11 boards; Benzinger being 4 for 4 with 3 from the arc; JT going 4 of 8 from the field and 4 of 4 from the line; and, S.Davis being 3 of 6 from the field and getting 7 boards.
Had we won those first two games of the tournament in SC we would be a respectable 9-2 right now with losses to BG and Evansville. I haven't taken the time to look ahead, but I think the game at W. Carolina will be a tough test and the game at OSU will probably be a blow-out. G. Mason is unknown to me, but I hope to look them up before the game.
In any case, we should be ready for our first HL game come Jan. 2nd hosting UDM.

You can always throw out the record when we play Miami. It's one of those series I hope we are able to continue.

The attendance was disappointing. Did notice not very many Miami people attending. Having the student out of school didn't help.

You aren't going to get many casual fans or fans from Miami to the game when the game was aired on local TV.

Is there a reason why the game was on Sunday instead of Saturday night?

Not sure but the guys got home about 4am on Friday and a few guys had finals and there was a graduation on Saturday...not sure how long it would have taken to get the arena ready ( hard to believe a morning shoot would have been in the main arena...FWIW ). ( Ladies played before the guys on Sunday, too...so, if that was the plan then the arena would have had to been ready for them in a timely manner ).

About Sunday versus Saturday, the game was on tv ( we know the time was changed to make it happen ) not sure Saturday would have worked. I don't know how many places had a chance to watch the game but Mark Adams wasn't just here for Channel 22's benefit ( he worked the Wichita State - Detroit game on Saturday ).
