How many of our newcomers will be on this team? will all three of our newcomers who have contributed a lot this year make it or only two. Karena, Benzinger and Mitchell have all played well in games. I think Karena and Benzinger are locks for the team. Mitchell needs more exposure in remaining games than BD gave him yesterday. Looking forward to a much improved season next year..

I think Benzinger is the only lock from our team...but I think Karena also has a good shot. I don't think we will get 3 players to the all newcomer team finishing the bottom third of the league.

Joe Thomasson has a better chance than either of them.

Last year the league dropped the all newcomer team for an all freshman team. Karena would have been a good candidate for newcomers, as would Thomasson, but since the league no longer has that team, here is my freshman team.. As far as freshman, we have a few good ones in the league. I think Benzinger (who I think is currently playing the best ball of all the freshman) will be joined by Paris Bass (Detroit), Jalen Hayes (Oakland) and Tevonn Walker (Valpo) as pretty much the consensus top 4 based on stats and Freshman of the week awards this year. I basically compared in conference stats because this compares games against like opponents, so no one would be padding their stats against inferior teams or hurt by playing tougher teams. Bass is currently my FOY, but not by much over the other 4, but enough that I don't think the others will catch him, as he leads freshman in points, FG%, and a close 2nd to Hayes in rebounds. Benzinger has been gaining on him as of late, even when teams were focusing on stopping him after all the Raider's injuries, while Bass is not the main scoring threat (Howard Jr.) for the Titans. The final spot on the all freshman team has a few candidates. Jordan (UWM), Daniels (Oakland) have each won a freshman of the week award. Several other candidates include Mitchell (WSU), Hogan (Detroit), Skara (Valpo), Francis (GB), and Morse (YSU). I'm going to go with Daniels on his overall in-league stats (especially his 3pt shooting) over the other guys, but with several games to go anyone of these guys could make a push for the last spot, and I could see Francis from GB making a run as he has been playing better as of late. And Mitchell has done a good job recently, but will probably take a step back with some of the injured Raiders getting healthy. Here's a link to the in-conference stats: HL Stats (pg 38 starts in-conference stats for individuals)
