This is the important game. We win we play tournament at home. Should have JT and Steven back. Not sure how effective they will be but hopefully will perform well. I want to see another home game this year.

Dr J- I'm really confused about how we would host a home game with our record. It seems that we would be hosting a team with a better record than ours. I know we beat Detroit twice and that has some bearing. I'm not disputing your comment. Just trying to figure it out.

According to the bracket, we would be on the road playing the 6th seed. Is there something I am missing? link

We will finish 6th and host more than likely this same UIC team. It's all based on the new bracket and Milwaukee being ineligible.

The first two games of the tournament involve the four teams at the bottom. Milwaukee is not eligible to play. The top four teams get a first round bye. If we win our record, as poor as it is, would be better than YSU and UIC, with any tie breakers needed. So we would host UIC or YSU. I think we will see JT and Steven play some on Saturday.

Dr. J is correct, with Milwaukee ineligible for post season tournaments this year because of a past low apr, there is a new 8-team format this year. There are two home games only in the first round. The bottom two teams travel to the 2 teams finishing above them. If we beat UIC on Saturday, we finish above UIC and Youngstown St., so we host a first round game.

Ahh...I forgot that Milwaukee was ineligible. That makes more sense now.

I'll be watching today's game with greater interest than is merited given our performance and record this year and the fact that I am very busy this time of year.
I am becoming very concerned about our pattern of being just not-good enough to win. We lost to a bad UIC team by 4 at home...lost to a worse YSU team by 5 at home...lost to Oakland by 9 at home...lost to a good Valpo team on the road by 7...then lost to Milwaukee at home by 3. Just good-enough to lose. We seem to want things to be a certain way...even when they simply aren't.
I remain baffled by the substitution patterns and why some guys play and then they don't. Our only offense is to throw it in to a double-teamed Karena or run a play for Benzinger...otherwise we throw the ball around the perimeter until the shot clock winds down and then - like a guy in the game 'hot potato' - the last guy to touch the ball makes a one-on-one move. We have guys who can get to the basket but it feels like they aren't supposed to do so. I'd like to know which one of our 6-2 guards plays the forward position better than R Davis in practice to merit keeping him on the bench.
The injuries have made this a very bizarre season. However, I am concerned that without the injuries we'd only be slightly better team due to odd substitutions, a stubborn-ness for wanting something that isn't there, and the continued ability to lose games in the last 5 minutes.
I'm hoping for the return of Yoho and Davis today and seeing our coaches figure out a way to get the most-effective team on the floor as much as possible.

Good start defensively...interesting to see if Yoho gets into this game...The announcers say he's "questionable".

Nice first basket by Hopkins on a nice set inbounds play.

Karena with a stupid first foul gives UIC its first two points. 3-2 Raiders
