Were Davis and Yoho really so injured they couldn't play at all? we certainly could have used a spark at some point in the second half.
My biggest question/irritation is why we played that pointless slow motion dribble non-offense so much in the second half. Was that what Billy wanted? Or was that the players and Billy just can't coach them out of it? Either way it looked idiotic.

a few years ago when I was a boy......Well, ok it was many, many years ago, I saw a really great movie. at least a great movie for a ten year old boy, old yeller. old teller was a great dog but at the end he got rabies and the little boy had to shoot the dog to put it out of its misery. Well that is what uic just did to us, put us out of our misery. just a really miserable time this entire year. coach just promised next year we would be back on top. anyone have trouble buying that.

I think BD is a nice guy and good speaker but he isn't a good free thinking coach. He uses a cookie cutter approach to coaching and not an adaptive approach. There are more excuses than good reasons for his style of play on both ends of the court. Glad this season is finished. If BD is still here I have to make a decision about having season tickets.

That promise was the perfect ending to this pathetic game and season. Thanks Raider fans, sorry we bit @ss and blew a 19 point lead in front of dozens of UIC fans, but hey I promise we will be back on top next year. Wow, I feel so much better! 2016 Horizon league champs. Promise Billy?

About a month ago I said that all the problems went back to Donlon and was crucified by some on this board. I rest my case!

Dusty Baker was fired after taking his Reds team to the playoffs to give the fans hope for the future. The administration needs to get rid of Donlon to give the fan base hope for the future. Nothing is going to make Donlon a good coach between now and next season...get rid of him now and go coach shopping early...WSU needs to be proactive for once. The Brownell hire was great...the assistant coach path has not worked at WSU.

I figure the final 4 will be
CSU vs. Valpo Oakland vs. Green Bay
I hope Oakland makes it but I think Valpo will be the one.
Green Bay gets the NIT bid.
Oakland gets a CBI bid.
WSU licking wound til next year.

So, I'm pissed.
Last season, The Horizon League moved the WSU student section to the opposite side of the gym because 'the students weren't allowed to sit next to the visiting team bench'....
Anyone notice that this didn't happen tonight? Valpo students were in the better end of the arena, close to Wardle and his players. GB students shoved in the other end with way fewer seats.
The league boned WSU last season for coming out of the bracket as the best seed. There's no other way around it. Boned. Boned hard.
Congrats to Valpo though. They should get a decent seed. I hope someone pays attention from WSU and files a complaint with the league.

In 2007 when we hosted we actually had both ends for the championship game against Butler. Their student section was in the upper part of 208 and 209. I do agree with you though, it seems like a common sense move to put the home team's bench at the end of the arena with the larger student section.

Well they need to make up their mind. Milwaukee came out and shot the lights out last year, and I'm not taking anything away from that. But we obviously got hosed. That is one of the advantages of earning the right to host the championship game. If they want a 'neutral court' feel...then move the tournament to Indy or Chicago. Moving our students one year, and taking away a HUGE advantage that we have at the Nutter, and then letting Valpo get away with the exact same thing we couldn't is a travesty. The league just needs to make up their mind...you can't do it on a case by case basis.
When we hosted the entire tournament in 07, the league did a great job handling everything, having the bands on the lower bowl, and getting opposing team students decent seating. But putting our students in the nosebleeds was a crime. I let it go, but the league 180'd their approach last night, and has brought that bad taste in my mouth back.
