actually 09, i do not think we played one single non div I team during the four years brad b. was here. this is strictly a billy d. thing. no question it is a desire to put some easy, sure wins on the schedule. Actually, you're right and wrong. Brownell did not schedule D-II teams, but Paul Biancardi and Ed Schilling both did. You seem to forget that Biancardi lost his first game to Cedarville. I wouldn't forget that...I wasn't a student then, cut me a little slack =]

It's possible that Cedarville considered Biancardi's first game as an exhibition for the Yellow Jackets ( couldn't see where their website went back that far but, I looked at a few different media guides of mine ( in case there was a typo...including the guide that followed that season with summaries of games and boxscore ) and ( FWIW ) counted as a regular season game for the Raiders.

Probably not the best one, but see here. statsheet.com/mcb/teams/wright-state/schedule?season=2003-2004. That was a regular season game to us.

ecb, although my purpose of looking at the media guide was to see if all of the other coaches had non-D1 games ( I took BBJ's post as gospel concerning Cedarville because I couldn't remember that far back ), I saw an ESPN boxscore that had WSU 0-1 with no record for Cedarville after the game and USA Today that didn't show a record for either team after the game that night in 2003.
I'd prefer no non-D1 games but, I blame the league. Worst case, I'd hope such a game would be a last minute desperation to get the schedule done. I appreciated D1 schools that gave us a chance but, we were among the best of D2 and I was hoping that we'd eventually aspire to the D1 level.

I totally agree with the idea that we, and all DI teams, should play only DI competition. Having said that, however, the reality is that most D-I programs do play several non-DI teams year in and year out. In fact, some of those lower level schools could have probably given OSU more competition than we did.
So given the fact that WSU is likely to play 2 or 3 such teams in 2015-16 I would endorse the idea that we try to play good local programs that have tested and beaten WSU in the past. So teams like Findlay, Central State, Cedarville, and Wittenberg would make sense to me IF we are going to have such teams on the schedule.

Wright Stste plays the University of Kentucky Nov 20, 2015 in Lexington. Wow...great news. Hopefully the guys don't shit the bed like they did against OSU this year.

Interesting news. Nothing taking on a team that could beat half of the teams in the NBA. Just hope for a respectable showing.

Hoops Junkie, not sure but I was led to believe that the game ( tickets ) was an item up for bid at last night's Art Gala auction. ( Hope the event was a great success for the programs that benefit ).

Those two games upgrade the schedule. Now BD needs to instill a positive winning attitude for the games and not let's try to decrease their offensive possessions so we don't lose by so much. Not saying we will probably win but we need to be aggressive on both ends of the court. Need to remember rebounds are the best defense. I will try to get tickets for both games.

XU we can win or at the worst make it interesting. This is a good pick-up for the schedule. Glad to hear it.
