This is the only game I would recommend to slow the game down. We need to keep this game around 60-70 to win. The Grizzlies feed off the run. Kay Felder on a fast break will pull up for a 25+ foot jump shot and bury it.
Green Bay is a fast paced team but they were wore down losing 111-93 against them last night. They could not keep up.
If we make shots and we dictate the pace of the game we win. Those two are required. If we try to run and make turnovers and stupid fouls we will lose big in front of a home crowd.

Ahhh, finally a game on real TV ... and not the 3-minute-behind-the-action ESPN3 feed.
Let's pay these guys back. Time to lock up that double-bye. (Win wouldn't guarantee a double-bye, but we'd be in the driver's seat to say the least. Oaktown still has to play at Valpo.)

In my opinion we need to have a uptempo offense and push their defense and slow them down with our defense. If we can slow their offense and not get saddled with a lot of fouls. We can definitely win this game. They need to go back to team play and less one on one. we made more shots than Valpo but three fewer assists.

WSU needs to do a lot of things, but the big thing is get Karena involved and use the inside game of him and also driving to the bucket and get their bigs in foul trouble and make them more one dimensional. Also, if there were any game where WSU should use a three-quarter press after made bueckets it would be this one (like what DOnlon did last year well to slow down Valpo and OU when injuries started to pile up). The goal is not to force turnovers but to make them take shots later in the possession than they would like.

Oakland likes to take the shot with 20+ seconds left on the clock. There is no way our boys can keep up with them. We either press to slow them down or slow them down with our slow down offense.

It isn't ESPNs fault. Our attendance has been poor all season.

It never ceases to amaze me what money can do. ESPN come calling, we take the money and run. The crowd will suck. We've basically traded cash for our usually pretty good home court advantage.
Hopefully we will be able to play through it regardless. Just not the game to do it to. We're in the drivers seat for the two seed by sweeping Valpo, and winning this game hopefully sets us even more ahead.
Oakland should be very happy with this. Their on ESPN, and we're not going to have a good crowd, therefore, increasing their chance of winning, IMO.

Oakland is undefeated on the road in the HL. All of their league losses have been at home. Talk about a Jekyll & Hyde team. They lose to NKU and YSU at home but then go 6-0 on the road so far this season.

Attendance has been down all year. It's a Monday night game and the Miami Valley just got blanketed with a snow storm. Game could have been at 7 to 8 and attendance would only be a few hundred more at most.

Prediction:
WSU 69 OU 63 if we make shots WSU 73 OU 101 if the 3 point shot bounces off the rim.

One additional note...both teams are coming off of Thursday/Saturday game. This will be the final of three games in five days for both teams.
Kind of confused why some of the travel partner matches got out of whack. I'd rather be us than be Oakland finishing at home.
Bottom line, fatigue could be a big factor in this game for both teams. I'm glad that it's even on the regard that someone isn't incredibly fresh, while the other playing 3 in 5.
I haven't watched enough Oakland ball to get a feel of their depth, and I'm not going to pretend to know, however, I feel pretty good about playing a deeper rotation considering the circumstances, except at the 4/5.
Hopefully the cards fall our way, this is a HUGE game, and it's too bad it's at 5 on a Monday.

[quote author=" wsu95" source= The snow stopped a long time ago and the roads are fine. A lot of people work until 4 or 5 and don't have time to make it to the game. The crowd would have been much better at 7 because this is an important game, and Raider fans usualy show up for big games[/quote] Our big crowds happen when: A: we are playing an important game. B: Free T shirts. The difference between our regular 3600-4000 attendance and a 6000 attendance is the student body coming for the free t shirt plus the casual fan who wants to see us play an important game.
