Technical against YSU's coach.
The refs are calling a ton of fouls. This game could come down to which team can keep their best players on the floor.
WSU 43 YSU 41 w/ under 12 min to play

The refs are calling a ton of fouls. We need to make free throws. Willie has missed some key shots and free throws. Let's go Raiders!

Vaughn did not touch him on that three point shot. These referees need to go back to the grade school level.

YSU 49 WSU 46 with under 8 min to play. We are going to have to get it together if we are going to pull this one out.

This is the most fouls I think I have ever seen called in a game. The whistle blows every 30 seconds at least.

Humphrey dominated and no one stepped up for WSU. Embarrassing second half effort.

We were outplayed tonight. The refs were calling everything very tight and we didn't adapt to that. YSU played us zone the whole game and we were cold from outside. With the way the refs were making calls on everything, we should have attacked the zone and won the game at the free throw line.
We played poorly and didn't deserve to win tonight.

That was a horrible way to end such a great season. Maybe this will light a fire under our guys come tournament time.

We have nobody to blame but ourselves. A very lackluster performance. Opportunities arose and we did not take advantage. Our record shows how far we've come, this game shows how far we still have to go.
GO RAIDERS!!!

I hate that we lost tonight, but I am still excited about this season. If anyone would have predicted we would finish 21-9, 13-3 before the season, I would have said they were drunk. It's been an exciting ride.

Not the way to head into the league tourney.
However, I am pleased with 13-3 and 21-9, especially given the way this team started off the season.

Feb. 22, 2007 Humphrey Dominates Second Half as YSU Tops Wright State 72-57 on Senior Night Youngstown -- Senior guard Quin Humphrey scored 29 points in the second half and notched his sixth double-double of the season as Youngstown State defeated Wright State 72-57 Thursday evening. Fellow senior Keston Roberts added 19 as the pair played their final regular season contest at the Beeghly Center. The victory was also head coach Jerry Slocum 600th win in his career. "It was an emotional win for us. I thought if we could get into the half within 10 I thought we'd have a shot," Slocum said. "I'm just very happy for our guys, in particular for Q and Keston and the games they had tonight." "This is as nice a win as I've had in my career. I'm proud of how we've played all year, and I'm proud to be a Penguin." The win was the Penguins' fourth in the last five games and improved their record to 13-15 overall and 7-8 in the Horizon League. Wright State, which entered the contest atop the Horizon League standings, finished the season 21-9 overall and 13-3 in the Horizon League. Humphrey had just six points in the first half as Wright State built a 33-25 advantage through the first 20 minutes. But he went 8-for-10 overall in the second half and 4-for-6 from behind the arc to finish with 35 points. The game gave Humphrey his sixth career 30-point performance and his third in the last five games. Roberts scored 10 points in the first half to lead all scorers and keep the Penguins in the game. The Penguins shot 62 percent from the floor in the second half and 51 percent overall while holding the Raiders to 25.5 percent. YSU opened the second half on a 7-0 run to take its first lead since midway through the first half on a Byron Davis dunk. Wright State scored the next five and held the lead until Roberts hit a free throw with 10:11 remaining. The Raiders scored three straight points to go up 46-44, but the Penguins went on a 9-1 run capped by a Humphrey trey to go up 53-47 with 6:22 left. Wright State cut the margin to two with 5:11 remaining, but Humphrey put YSU up nine after a jumper and a four-point play. The Raiders got within five with just over two minutes left before YSU ended the game on a 10-0 run that included eight points from Humphrey. Wright Sate went 17-for-17 from the line in the first half to overcome a 28-percent effort from the floor and take a 33-25 lead into the locker room.. YSU led 8-6 on a John Barber jumper, but Wright State went on a 12-2 run to go up 18-8 with 10:22 remaining. Humphrey got the Penguins within 22-18 on a jumper with 6:25 to go, but the Raiders scored seven straight to take its largest lead of the game at 29-18 with 4:23 left. The Penguins currently sit tied for fourth in the Horizon League standings with UW-Green Bay. YSU will travel to take on Cleveland State Saturday at 5:30 p.m. while UW-Green Bay will play host to UW-Milwaukee. The Phoenix own the tiebreaker with the Penguins by virtue of the regular-season sweep. www.ysu.edu/sports/mens_bball/200607/wsurecap2.htm
