Great win for Wright State, winning 7-3 over UIC in the first game of the series!
Bellomy throws a complete game gem for the win.

It's a Final: Wright State defeats Dayton 8-7.
Dayton got the bases loaded and two runs in the 9th, but Schrand shuts the door to preserve the win.

Actually, before raiderrunt's post, I forgot what it was (I knew it has a record that heavily favored WSU, though.) I remember broadcasting the last UD win back in 2009 for WWSU. Our pitcher was Right-hander Woytek, and I think it was Burny Mitchum for Dayton. That was a windy day. Both teams only scored in one of their innings, as the Raiders fell 5-3 (we would win 11-0 at home later that season vs. UD.) I can't wait to announce this game, and I hope to see a lot of fans out today. It's free admission for those who'd like to come out! For those that can't, there's an Internet stream at radio1.gemcitysports.com Lee...you see the Raider Gang more than most of us. Is it the pitching that is suspect and giving the Raiders some rally crappy loses? Do you have any other observations on the team you can share? I'll admit that I haven't worked as many games as years past because of a hectic work schedule, but I feel like most times it's the bullpen that gets hit. The starting core (Bellomy, Zane Collins, Brehmer, Perlich, and Wirsing: Last two are normally the weekday pitchers) have done a stellar job, although there's been a few games where they've been touched up as well, like last night's game vs. Bowling Green. The hitting has done a nice job and J.D. Orr looks even faster than years past. The outfielders can certainly hit! I like what I see from the Raider Gang, but there's that big series with UIC this weekend.

The #RaiderGang picked up the win with a five run inning to defeat Bowling Green 8-5. Next game for Wright State is at Dayton tomorrow at 3:00. Out of curiosity, what's our lifetime record against UD? Actually, before raiderrunt's post, I forgot what it was (I knew it has a record that heavily favored WSU, though.) Raiders took the lead late in the nightcap of the DH by Damon Dues's second grand slam of the day, but Milwaukee walks it off with a three-run Homer to win the game 7-6 and series 2-1.
UIC recently dropped two of three at home to Oakland, so the Flames still lead by a half game over the Raiders. Guess who's in town this upcoming weekend?

Wright State avoided the sweep today with a 9-1 win at Northern Kentucky.
UIC went 1-2 against Youngstown State, so the Raiders are still a half game back of the Flames (UIC and Milwaukee only played two.) However, NKU and Oakland are 6-6 and not far behind.
By the way, former Raider Caleb Sampen won his debut with the Bowling Green Hot Rods, Single-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.
