The announcers made a nice reference to Wright State when Bill Edwards Jr was on the floor. When Xavier played Miami earlier this month, I remember the broadcasters for WLW also mentioned Wright State and Bill Edwards, Sr.

We were only like 8 or 10 watts when I was the program director of WWSU back in the mid-nineties; the broadcast reach was far from adequate. You were Programming Director at WWSU? Neat! I was the Sports Director from 2008 until late 2010. I think I was a freshman or sophomore when we made the jump to 20 Watts. There were rumors that we were supposed to get a tower near Miamisburg, but that never came to pass. Yeah, the broadcasting reach leaves something to be desired, but at least it's available online nowadays.

Can someone please explain this Twitter update from WWSUSPORTS1069 ?? Received at 2:44AM on July 30th.... "First Wright State game is in seven days, who's ready for some Raider Athletics on the radio?!" What event is this?? They really should have provided some more info That's my fault. I was thinking of updating the Twitter feed and didn't realize I was vague when I said that. I might have also saw the countdown on the new athletic website and thought that was a good enough update on Twitter.

In that same article that Cheerfan posted, it says that WSU will play at Ohio State on August 17th for an exhibition match. The Raiders open the season against Marshall on the 26th.
Hopefully the men's team has a better year than last year. Going 4-0 and then losing 12 out of the last 13 games is not something you'd like to repeat.

Not to advertise, but I will be broadcasting the next six games on WWSU 106.9FM (wwsu1069.com) and I'd like for anyone to tune in and listen.
There's also the Horizon League streams as well, at horizonleague.org.

After day one:
#4 Valparaiso 9, #5 Butler 0 #6 Youngstown State 4, #3 Milwaukee 2
The Raiders play the Penguins of YSU, whereas the Flames play Valpo. Butler and UWM play in the elimination bracket, next loss knocks that team out.
