I'm thrilled that WSU has lowered its price for some games to $10 and $13, but I'm a bit concerned about the $20 price for 4 games. I can understand the $20 fee for UC, but the OU, Butler, and UDM games, IMO, should be $15 or $17. But overall I think the price changes are a positive move by WSU. It makes it more affordable for a family to attend, and that is a real positive.
I hope WSU is as successful this season as I think they can be for both the men and women's teams. GO RAIDERS!

I don't think we will have any problem getting $20 for the Butler and UC games from casual fans in the Miami Valley. OU shouldn't be a problem either. They have a ton of local alumni that will pay that price to see their team play. Detroit is the only team I think we will have a hard time selling tickets for unless they actually live up to expectations in the HL. That I am not too sure about yet.

Yes, I'm not concerned about getting the $20 price from Butler and OU, or even UDM fans. I just question the $20 price tag for a MAC team, which is usually ranked below the HL, and two other HL teams, both of whom may be struggling a bit this season even though they are ranked high in the HL. Will we also put a $20 price on the Miami game next season? Is it appropriate to differentiate those two schools, Butler and UDM, from Milwaukee, CSU, or others?
I think in terms of a WSU ticket price relative to a family going to a movie. They both provide about 2 hours of entertainment. A WSU alum might be willing to pay a higher price than a non-alum, but we need to reach out to attract such fans. The lower ticket prices may help in that regard. The $20 price may turn such folks away.

Can someone give reactions to the Raider Ruckus event? Unfortunately I won't be able to make it tonight

All but 4 games this year will cheaper than it was last year - I think that's a positive. We really need to make sure we get the $20 cost out there in advance though IMO for those 4 games. If people get used to $10/$13 and walk up to the box office to learn for the first time that a game is $20 we are going to tick off our fan base.
My understanding is that our best halftime entertainment acts are going to be scheduled for the $20 games as well as FYI. Hopefully fans feel they are getting a "premium" event when those 4 teams come to town this year.

Can someone give reactions to the Raider Ruckus event? Unfortunately I won't be able to make it tonight It's reported that about 700 students attended Raider Ruckus tonight. There were many dance performances by the cheerleaders, emerald jazz, and the Wright Rhythm group. The Men's and Women's teams were announced. They even turned off the lights for the men's introductions. Coach Donlon's speech was very high energy and "Donlon-esque" He spoke very highly about the University as a whole and even made a few comments about how WSU is not like Miami (OH) where "98% of the students look exactly the same" or BGSU where the whole campus is flat and "boring." His speech was probably the highlight of the entire event, or at least it was in my eyes. There was a skills competition for both the men and the women much like the NBA does for their all-star weekend. Courtney Boyd won for the women while Jason Cuffee won for the men. Following that there was a "most spirited student" competition where yours truly is rumored to have attempted to dance in a green spandex suit to win a gift card as well as free books for winter quarter. Hopefully all video evidence of such an event has been destroyed. ;D Overall I felt like this was a fairly big success and i know a number of students who really enjoyed themselves. A lot of effort was put into this event and it was apparent. So a big thank you to Corey Griest, Mark Gazdik, and the rest of the athletic dept. is in order.

We have another Fan Advisory Meeting this week, are there any ideas or thoughts that you would like us to bring up to Mark? This will be our 1st meeting since the season has started so it should be interesting to get everyone's thoughts.
