Ok, I was fortunate enough to talk with a person in the athletic department recently. The "Raider Village" was explained to me as a "concept" of connecting all our sporting complexes into a "sports village". In other words this "new" indoor soccer/baseball practice facility that the 1 million dollars was donated towards is not the "first" building in the Raider Village but rather it will help to start to "connect" the rest of the other sporting complexes that are already out there to create a "sports village" feel to the area. In other words we currently have the Nutter Center, basketball Pavilion, baseball field, softball field, and soccer fields that are part of the Raider Village. Eventually they would love to have the nautatorium out their as well. I really like this concept alot. I truly love the idea of having a "sports village" feel to the area around the Nutter Center. So to me personally it really doesn't matter if they put this "new" building up where the pond currently resided or the location that BigD mentioned as a possibility because in either locating it will help to start "connecting" the sporting facilities together. Now I know I'll get booed for this comment ( I probably deserve it ;D ) but if you are going to have a "village" feel to the area I like the idea of keeping the pond to help create a village atmosphere. This is strictly my opinion and not from anyone I've spoken to at WSU. Thanks for the update.

Okay, thanks for the update from 13 years ago. Well, if $1 million was donated toward a baseball practice facility, where is it? I am guessing the the bad economy and then the financial problems stopped it from moving forward.
