the field is going to be used by most club sports and not just club football... with that being said there will be students on the field. no doubt in my mind that many students will be going out there, many students in other clubs are excited for the field

I said it would also be used by student rec groups and soccer for an extra practice field. With that being said, I have no doubt in my mind that the VAST majority of WSU students will never set foot on the field.

Cheer, my excitement is not over the amt. of students who will get to use the field. We all know that Pavilion isnt used by anyone other than athletes, the baseball and softball fields are off limits to the general population as well as are most of the athletic fields we have. The excitement I find from this is that we are expanding our horizons (see what I did there) and adding more and more facilities to our campus. Even if this is just a practice field for soccer and used for rec sports, its still a nice addition to the fold. It would be much more student-friendly if the NC was located across from the quad, but we have to give and take in certain areas.

Anytime we upgrade facilities it is a good thing. Personally I wish we would have addressed our parking problem with the stupid pond before we added the football field. It's nice to have the football field for our recreational groups, but our crappy parking hurts our attendance at basketball games and basketball game revenue is our major source of income for all sports at WSU. I know that fixing our parking situation is on our AD's 3-5 year plan, but I think these 2 projects should have been reversed.

I stand by what I said earlier in this thread. Anytime we upgrade facilities it is a good thing. I agree 100%. I here it all the time that people don't come to games because of the parking problems.

I think it was money very poorly spent. As already mentioned, we could have used the money to fix our parking problem or a dozen other projects that would have made more sense.

I don't know how much use our true student body will get out of these facilities but I still think it's a good thing anytime you can upgrade or add more athletic facilites. Having top notch facilities helps you stand out in recruiting and at the end of the day having better recruits allows you to have better teams.

Some of my friends and I were using the new fields today and as we left, some more students showed up to play football. People like to complain but honestly students will use it and it is nice to see some campus life around here.
