We've been wanting this team to play faster for years...sounds like we might finally get our wish. Just have to worry about getting beat up down low...can't have it both ways.

I've got to be honest, Wright State's lack of interior surprise wouldn't worry me one bit...you've stayed in the top tier of the conference every year, and has WSU had any of the top 10 big men in the conference in the past decade?

I should have been clearer...the best 10 post players in the past decade total...so, Matt Howard, Alec Brown, Anthony Hill, etc. WSU hasn't had a guy in their IMO - even YSU has had Eargle, who is a great shot blocker and killing it overseas - and even without a truly great post player, WSU has been arguably the best team in the conference since 2005. So I wouldn't worry about missing a true post presence.

Fairborn judge Beth Root issued summons to appear for 4th degree misdemeanor charge for Tavares Sledge for illegal possession of a firearm. Per the Fairborn court system.
Apparently he was arrested 18 September.

Sounds as though we will see a faster paced and more exciting game this year. That will mean more of the freshmen will get some PT for experience. This should fit in with the majority of the players.

Apparently he was arrested 18 September. I was led to believe he was dismissed for academic reasons. This is the 3rd arrest by a member of the basketball team since last season and 6th arrest since Donlon has taken over as head coach. This isn't acceptable by any stretch of the imagination.

Just to set the record straight, Sledge was not arrested on Sept 18th. He was issued a ticket for Improper Handling of a Firearm, not for illegal possession. It is a 4th Degree misdemeanor. Because of this incident, he violated the terms of his parole and so yesterday, October 9th, a summons was issued for him to report before Judge Beth Root for sentencing for this incident.
I'm just reporting what is in the public record and I am not posting this in support or condemnation of Mr. Sledge.

Thanks for clearing that up. The info I received was preliminary and I didn't have access to all the details.

Is there going to be a Billy Donlon show again this year at Frickers? I haven't seen any type of announcement yet.
