Tonight's game @ Miami has been called in the first inning with the score tied 1-1. No make-up date has been announced, but it sounds like both teams would like to make it up.
WSU is back in action for a weekend series against the Penguins of Youngstown State this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

It took 12 games, but the Raiders were finally beaten at home by Youngstown State last night 6-5. The Raiders made noise in the bottom of the 9th, but came up a run short.
The good news is they destroyed the Penguins this afternoon 13-1. The Raiders and Penguins play the rubber game of the series tomorrow at 1pm.

Wright State blasted Youngstown State this afternoon 9-0, allowing only 5 hits, and striking out 8 as a team.
WSU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after the first, but YSU kept the explosive offense in check...That was, until the 6th inning, where WSU had 6 hits, including a 3 run bomb by Ryan Fucci. The Raiders never looked back, and added runs in each of the next two innings.
WSU is in action this week at the Joe Nuxall classic in Cincinnati. They play Miami(OH) on Tuesday, and either Xavier or Cincinnati on Wednesday. WSU has wins over all 3 teams already this season. WSU returns to home action next Tuesday where they host the UD Flyers. WSU sits atop of Horizon League standings at 10-4.

www.wsuraiders.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=27000&ATCLID=210025912Baseball creams UC 15-9 to win 3rd Nuxhall title in 4 years. WSU is now 6-0 against southwest Ohio teams, with 2 wins each against UC, Xavier, and Miami. The Raiders now travel to Oakland for a weekend series. It's an important weekend for league standings. It appears to be a 3 dog race for the regular season title, and the Raiders cannot afford a hiccup against an Oakland squad that is 6-22. WSU could use some help from Valpo as they host UIC this weekend. The Raiders and Flames sit tied atop the league standings with 4 losses each.

Although I am a one game at a time person ( and haven't looked at an extended forecast ) but, the Raiders will have ( I believe that's what they call it ) Military Appreciation night when they host Dayton on the 21st at 6:30. The Raiders host Miami on the 22nd.

Wright State absolutely demolished Oakland this afternoon, jumping out with 7 runs in the first, and winning by a final of 17-5. The series continues tomorrow and Sunday with games at 1pm both days.
FWIW, UIC beat Valpo 12-3 this evening to keep pace with WSU for first place in the league.

It took extra frames, but WSU bettered Oakland 5-2 this afternoon in Rochester, MI. WSU broke the scoring open early, with a run in the 2nd and 3rd innings. However, Oakland put one up in the bottom of the 2nd and knotted the game in the bottom of the 7th. The Raiders had several opportunities to stretch the lead, but Oakland's pitching and defense answered every call. That was, until the Raiders broke through with 3 in the top of the 11th. The Grizzlies had the tying run at the plate, but with nobody out, but Raider pitching was able to work out of the jam to close out the game. The Raiders go for the sweep tomorrow at 1pm.
In equally good news, Valpo and UIC split a 2 game series today, so that gives WSU a one game lead in the league standings.

wsuraider09, had to rely on gametracker for the stats ( 9th inning was painful for both halves ). Nice to see softball have a good day, also. Anyway, wanted to say thanks for reminding me about UIC ( giving the score saved me the trouble of going on their site ).

Yeah, Friday and today's game were on ESPN, but not Saturday's. Most of the schools' gametrackers do a pretty good job being pretty close to real-time.
