Hopefully we will see him back in uniform for Tuesday's game then. I am hoping he can develop some defense and earn more minutes.

Billy said Daniel Mortensen had a migraine that caused him to throw up ( you can decide if that is good news ).

Sounded like he should be good for tomorrow. Mitchell probably needs the Christmas break and then he will be ready to return.

I'm sorry Daniel M didn't feel well yesterday but, glad it isn't a flu problem that could go around.
My guess is that Justin might be ready to go if tomorrow was a league game but, should be 100% by the time of the Milwaukee game.

I know Justin had his foot in a walking boot at Miami. ( He hasn't used one the last 3 times I have seen him and he told me that it would be a couple of weeks...must have hurt it between the X and Miami game ). ( Hope I am not talking out of school...we are prepared for a tough Murray State team with the guys that have won a couple and I think Justin is doing better ).

What's the latest on some of our guys that are injured? I know Neel is out for the year, Steven Davis I believe too. Is Justin Mitchell hurt again? I don't think he played against NKU.
What's the deal with Roderick Davis? Surprised he doesn't even get a few minutes here and there when Karena gets in foul trouble. Is he hurt, or has he just not panned out yet?

Mitchell played 6 minutes against NKU. He had some sort of injury earlier, but he's playing again now. R Davis right now appears to be a bust, just my opinion. He's a legitimate big guy, who could really help in the paint rebounding and playing good interior D. But he never sees the court and he's half way through his 2nd year here. I don't know what other conclusions one could draw from this.

Just another year under Donlon... Anyone else surprised? Do you know how many kids get scholarships to Div I teams and never see the floor much at all? Thousands. Reality.

While that's definitely true, this is a recruit that BD really couldn't afford to whiff on. He spent a lot of time & effort to land this player, and he was counted on to play a big role as one of BD's inside players. Its not like he is one of 8 guards on the team that washes out. He is only 1 of 4 legitimate big guys on the roster, and if he washes out, that leaves a big hole in the roster for next year.

Cool, thanks for the info on Mitchell.
Too bad Rod Davis didn't pan out. I was high on him when we signed him.

Is neel able to redshirt since he played just 5 games? I think it's a limit of 4 maybe 5 games or a percentage of games?
Also the other night I saw Steven Davis in street clothes in the student section. I thought most injured players sat with the team in street clothes. Is this an indicator of something or am I reading into things?
Roderick Davis is a bust, but that's for another thread. His health is not his issue.

WSU has already put the paperwork together for Neel to apply for a medical redshirt. I don't see any reason the NCAA wouldn't allow it. I think S. Davis' career at WSU s over. He sat out a year as a nonqualifier out of high school. I believe he is on track to graduate this year. He could either start working in the real world with his degree or transfer and play somewhere else next year as a 5th year grad student. If he had any intention of playing for us next year he would be sitting on the bench with the team. R Davis hasn't lived up to his potential and has regressed as a player since last year. I don't know if he will be back next year or not. Either way, we will be seriously hurting on the inside when Mike and JT graduate. We don't have a single player that has shown he is ready to step into the starting lineup next year and contribute inside.

+1 on hurting inside, but I have been impressed with the minutes Parker has played. He's undersized, but he's contributing as a freshman, which isn't something we see too often. I like the kid, and I see him getting big minutes next season. While he's tall, he needs to add quite a bit of muscle to really hanh down low with some of the physical guys Valpo and Detroit have.
Having said that, it seems like this is always a point of discussion year in and year out, I'm holding out hope we can get a decent JUCO transfer to fill in down low..as the pipeline is dried up.
