A couple interesting things about that interview I didn't know before; Clint Sargent did a lot of the work on scheduling and contacting other schools (surely under the direction of Bob Grant and Nagy of course), why was Nagy in Las Vegas last week recruiting? Was there a big AAU tourney there or something? Also, it sounds like Nagy is really counting on Cole Gentry to run the ball when he can start playing in December, and he even left the door open to Justin Mitchell playing point...that may not be a good thing as far as production from Tyler Mitchell and Everett.

Yeah, I was never really buying Winchester was a PG at 6-6. He'll be a SG and wing.

Justin Mitchell is most likely running the point until Gentry is eligible in December. Tyler Mitchell will back him up and be given the chance to prove he is ready to remain the primary backup when Gentry is eligible. Mitchell will move to his more natural position at the 3 when Gentry is eligible. Everett isn't a point guard. Donlon might have thought he was one but he isn't. He will most likely get minutes at the 3 in Nagy's system. Jaylon Hall is a kid that can play all 3 guards spots in Nagy's system.

Well, if we can survive non-con okay then maybe we'll be pretty good to go for conference then! That's kind of how Nagy made it sound also. I'm excited about Jaylon, I hope he gets to play this year. Do you think he'll be redshirted?

Do you think he'll be redshirted? You never know for sure until the season really starts but my guess is he plays this year. He came to Wright State in much better shape than I think our staff was anticipating. He played his senior year at 170-175 lbs. He is listed at 200 lbs on the roster now. He has also been working his butt off this summer at practice, open gyms, and obviously in the weight room. I hope we get the chance to see him this year.

That kind of stuff is even more exciting. A really talented kid who has something to prove! I feel a lot better about chances this year. Thanks!

I feel a lot better about chances this year. Thanks! I am not going into this season with any expectations. We only have a handful of guys with any type of D1 experience. On paper, we are a rebuilding team. I'm still looking forward to seeing how Nagy puts this team together.

I am wondering where our scoring is going to come from and who will be the forwards? Parker, Love and Manns? Seems like Manns and/or Love will have to develop fast we will need them to contribute. Could Winchester play the 4 this year? I respect Nagy's coaching ability but I am surprised he did not use up the last scholarship for another big. Is it that hard to get good players here to WSU?

I didnt realize that we have one guy at 6'11", one at 6'9", and then Manns at 6'7" and then Everett is the next biggest guy...I expect a lot out of Big Lou listed as 6'9" and 300 lbs. But he is an "athletic" 300 lbs if that makes sense. I see him around every so often and he looks nothing like he did in freshman year photos for the team. I don't think anyone will be redshirted this year then, will they? I mean Wampler has to sit (he'll be a big gain next year) but other than that, am I forgetting anyone? We dont have enough good guys to sit our newest players I think. But Nagy was saying he is the kind of guy who likes to sit kids and develop them freshman year.

We only had 3 forwards last year. We only have 3 forwards this year. Manns and Love are both going to be freshman but neither is a traditional freshman. Love redshirted so he has a year of physical maturity under his belt and a year of practicing in our system under his belt. Manns spent the last year at a prep school so he has an extra year of physical maturity under his belt also. I also think we are going to play 4 guards at times. The difference between this year and the past is that we have a couple of guards that are 6-6 so even though we technically will be playing small, we will still have decent size on the court. It's not what our coaches or us want but it's the situation we are in for this season.
