I’ve not been impressed with anyone at all tonight. Seems like we’re leaderless on offense and completely mystified on defense. Drive and dish is absolutely crushed us this half.

Alan Vest gave some solid minutes. Horrible game. We will bounce back but that was ugly.

A win over Murray State would have made a little bit of noise for us. Too bad we couldn’t get it. Onto the next one

2 NCAA tournament teams from last season, the difference was that we are clearly missing a lot of leadership from that team, and it was completely non-existent today. We seem to completely forget how to guard shooters, and Murray State was simply knocking down every 3 they seemed to put up in the second half. Also, our free throw shooting was abysmal, something that we have clearly taken for granted the last decade. We didn't appear to be really doing much on offense. It looked stagnant and almost forced; a completely different offensive team compared to what we saw earlier this week. Murray State was also clearly more physical and more athletic, and we had a very difficult time with motion and cutters. Hopefully those improvement come in time, but it sure would be nice if that wasn't what we seemed to struggle with the first month of every single season.
Disappointed with the play of Jaylon Hall tonight, as well as Bill Wampler. Maybe Hall wasn't playing 100%, but I don't understand why he got so much playing time. You can't shoot your way out of a slump. Seemed like Murray State really locked Wampler down and he could never get going.
Luckily we've got two home games coming up before hitting the road for the Cancun trip. If this team has any chance of winning a game in Cancun, it simply cannot play like they did tonight. Nagy needs to find a leader for this team, someone who we can rely on to start a fire when we need to, or make a big play to start a run. We saw none of that tonight.

Well, don't know what our staff was thinking but, if the gameplan is that the other team can't shoot 3's then some coaches say let them. You might think they should re-think the strategy but, you trust the percentages will return to normal by the end of the game. We can certainly do better most nights on our end. It happens.
As far as shooting yourself out of a slump, there again you encourage shooting hoping the percentages will be there at some point.
I only listened on radio so, take it for what it is worth.
Don't know if Murray State is that good. We aren't that bad. Some nights you look totally outclassed and you try to make sure it doesn't happen again. If you thought someone showed leadership in the past and these are the same guys then guess the outcome will make it look like there is no leadership. Winning makes everything look better.

I think the difference was Murray State's point guard Ja Morant who is projected to be a first round Nba draft pick possibly after this season. I didn't think Murray State looked too great outside of Morant, but he brought a swagger and confidence that lifted the rest of the team. Fun player to watch...disappointing game by Wright State. I think it's going to be a good season, but a pretty bad game tonight.

That was a disappointing loss. I expected a close, competitive game, not a 2nd half blow out.
Last year Benzinger was THE GUY to go to in tough games. He was the leader on the court. I didn't see anyone stepping into that role last night. Someone on this team needs to takeover that role.

I know there are plenty of Ohio State football fans on here (full disclosure: I hate them. Go Blue), so you'll know what I mean when I say this was a lot like yesterday's Michigan State game.
Murray State/OSU are good, but played poorly for their talents. WSU/Michigan St are good, but played even further below our capabilities and just. Kept. Screwing. Up. End result: ugly game that turned into a blowout in the last fourth as soon as someone decided they got bored with being crappy.
OSU and Murray State played mediocre ball. We are not that bad of a team and, Little Brother was ranked #18 going into the game. Both of us kept finding ways to shoot ourselves in the unmentionables while the other guys approached their capabilities.
This isn't indicative of the full season. We sucked more/longer than they sucked. Both teams are capable of winning their leagues as long as they play their game.

I didn't have the opportunity to watch or listen to the game. The Box Score is ugly. I didn't see it discussed here (possibly I missed it), but why did Mark get a technical near the end of the first half?

After Mark had a nice dunk, he put his forearm into the chest of a Murray State player and may have said something.

After Mark had a nice dunk, he put his forearm into the chest of a Murray State player and may have said something. Mark completely deserved it too. He went up and had a great dunk (for a small guy), and mindlessly shoved off the defender. Mindless play. Not that it cost us the game, but you aren't looking for those plays out of your leaders.
