Didn’t guard the inbounds pass and let it go a quarter of the court without time running. Just another shit loss and now losing record. Got destroyed on the boards the entire game and our offense didn’t show up until the second half.
Looking like a long season ahead based on the last few games.

And then that happened. Really don't understand why Potter rode the pine from the 2 minute mark until 19 seconds. He's our 2nd best rebounder and vest got absolutely torched on that drive to the basket.

He's a nice kid and should be a role player off the bench backing up Lou. He doesn't score. He doesn't rebound. Picking up 1 charge a game does not deserve the honor of starting and getting major minutes. Potter deserves more minutes.

I'm sure all our players are nice guys but play the talent during crucial moments. Potter had a great game and based off what I have seen, he would have fought for that rebound.

Drop, it's okay if that is your thinking but, if you are 2 of 6 on three's, it is the same as 3 for 6 on two's. So, in the past, 33% on 3's equally 50% on 2's usually was acceptable to coaches. I agree that seeing men and women doing better than 33% makes me want better. The coach wanting 40% is a good goal to have but, I have to see it for an extended number of games to believe it.

Vest and Potter were subbing offense/defense for the last few minutes of the game. I'm guessing coach doesn't fully trust the freshman to get crucial stops at the end of games.

Teams have figured out how effective it is to hound Gentry and force Billy off the 3 point line. Gentry is human and will get tired and doesn't really have a backup (yet) and Billy can't score off the 3 point line. Love's confidence looks shot.
We desperately need a leader to step up and right the ship at times during the game. That leader might soon be Potter after last night. He went on a run there that looked like he stepped up when/because no one else would/could.
Nagy is a smart guy and will get this figured out. I still think this team will be very different (better) the last half of the season. Coach is going to have to trust the freshmen tho because his seniors are-what-they-are...great kids and good role players but with limitations.
Does anyone know the story with Manns?

Does anyone know the story with Manns? His defense isn’t where Nagy wants it to be. My opinion is that he didn’t utilize his red shirt year to the best of his advantage. He didn’t put on enough good muscle weight and he still isn’t physically able to defend guys in the paint.

wolf, 4-5 years ago bd brought two big guys in, Parker and another guy, maybe lett was his name, not sure. Between the two of them they had garnered a grand total of 1 scholarship offer. One. Now normally a guy 6’10” with a pulse will get 10 offers so that should have told everybody something. The fact that we have relied on this guy as a starter for the past couple of years is an indictment on our recruiting of big men. Probably the toughest part of the job for a mid major coach but we need to land a decent one every couple of years. otherwise we end up starting a guy who should be playing div ii.

This is it right here! Great point, I made a similar reference about the lack of scholarship offers players received. And when you're talking about a big guy, when WSU finally gets a good one... there is no way that he should have 8 points off 7 shots and only 4 rebounds... idc what style of offense the other team is running and maybe changing your own teams pace... you gotta feed Lou

Not sure how/why the bd era is being blamed for poor performance with this years team... Its nagys team and his job to recruit. They brought in Loudon which has been great but missed on Manns. Simple as that. Our depth issue at big wouldnt be an issue if he was ready to play and/or Basile wasnt injured.

Simple as that. Our depth issue at big wouldnt be an issue if he was ready to play and/or Basile wasnt injured. 1. The Donlon era is bing blamed because Nagy is still dealing with his recruits. There are 3 kids still on the team brought in by Donlon that quite honestly would not have been recruited by Nagy. They are all nice kids but none of them really fit what he looks for in a recruit. 2. It is way too early to call Manns a bust. He’s a redshirt freshman for Christ sake. He’s not playing because he needs to put on more bulk to be able to play on the inside. 3. Our depth issue exist because Winchester decided to transfer April 20 last year and it was too late in the year to find a replacement. 4. If Winchester didn’t transfer and Hall wasn’t hurt, I think we would be 8-2 or 9-1 right now. We lost 2 guys that should be competing for all conference honors and trying to replace them with true freshmen and a career bench warmer.

Spot on! Add to that Basile is out due to a bad foot, I believe, and Jeremiah Davenport bailed on his commitment, which in reality leaves this year's roster down 4 players who had the ability and potential to make this a great year. Without them I'm afraid its going to be a tough year.
