6112 in attendance tonight is the highest attended home game by a league team this season.

After year's of yelling at refs I've finally decided to do what Nagy does and just leave them alone. Last night's crew made me re-think that plan, though. They spent a good part of the evening looking at each other and scratching their heads. After the third or fourth time that the out of position ref made the call I gave up and just started laughing at them. Darner got Tee'd up and Nagy would have been as well if the ref hadn't just walked away from him. Not a good crew.

We will continue to have inconsistent officiating so long as we continue to be a bottom third program. Midwest based officials have five to six leagues that are more desirable to officiate in.
This will be more problematic on games played on Saturday as 90% of the country plays on Saturday, ergo we get the bottom of the barrel when it comes to experienced officiating.
Up until about five years ago, the league was having decent officiating, but as the league continues on an overall downward trajectory, so has the experience and quality of officiating.
The only saving grace we get is if we are playing on a Friday and can get a decent crew in ahead of their big matchup on Saturday.
Earlier this season we saw DJ Carstensen, Courtney Green, and Bo Boroski, three NCAA tournament officials and names you would certainly recognize in top 25 marquee matchups. However, those were played on off nights when marquee matchups were nowhere to be found and the better refs are placed in games of lower quality because a paycheck is a paycheck.
The inconsistency in the officiating in the league is really unfair to the athletes who have no clue what kind of calls to expect from game to game, or as we saw in our last two games, from half to half.
It's a crap situation, but if affects all of the teams equally. Gone are the days of seeing the same regular faces across the league. I see these guys on TV or in the box score and have never heard of them. Some of them hardly officiate any games at all and are seemingly only called on from the scrap heap because everyone else has been assigned a better game.
