I love a coach who gets all over the player for mistakes in practice and talks about improvement areas. Then later tell you the positives and how they are wanting to see the progress you will make with your hard work.

“We thought that because we’re so experienced, our freshman wouldn’t have a chance to play much, and that’s not going to be the case,” said Nagy. Interesting.

“We thought that because we’re so experienced, our freshman wouldn’t have a chance to play much, and that’s not going to be the case,” said Nagy. Interesting. We have 3 true freshmen and a redshirt freshman on the roster. Basile and Holden are going to play for sure this year. They will be in the rotation and when all is said and done I wouldn't be surprised if one of them gets into the starting rotation by conference play. Trey Calvin's future is probably being debated the most right now by the coaching staff. He played well in Italy and in both closed scrimmages. The problem is depth at the PG spot. We all know Gentry is going to start and play more than 30 minutes a game. We have 5th year senior Jordan Ash capable of playing PG or SG for us too. There just isn't a lot of minutes available for Calvin if we play him this year. He is talented enough to play and I think he would benefit from the experience going into next season since he will be our starting PG next year. The argument to redshirt him is he has the potential to be a really good 4 year starter for us. Why waste a year of that so he can get mop up minutes this season. I'm sure our coaches will continue to debate this all the way to our first game. I'm pretty sure Andre Harris is redshirting this year. He could use the year to improve his outside shooting.
