This will be an interesting end to an interesting recruitment overall. Solid 5 star by pretty much everyone. Kid's dad coaches UW-M, and the potential signing of this kid might be half the reason Amanda Braun hired him in the first place, and it's three fourths the reason he still has a job. In 4 seasons, Baldwin hasn't done anything except beat us in the HL tournament. They haven't had a winning record overall or in conference, and his best finish is tied for 5th and that was this past season, which we all know was seeded with the most flawed system of all time. Needless to say, the kid is a probable one and done. You want to be a lottery pick, you go to blue blood program. Duke is his best choice for his personal success and early entry into the NBA. The kid could do amazing things for the city of Milwaukee, his dad, and the UW-M program; but I don't see it. Lottery picks don't come from mid major programs very often, so it is a serious gamble for him to stay home. I'll be watching, but my inclination is I'd rather not have to play him twice or even three times a season. Sounds like Baldwin will be playing for his father at Milwaukee, which explains why he's still employed there. Getting his son is the only thing that's going in the right direction for the program. HL will have it's first 5-star recruit that I can remember. Will likely garner more ESPN-related highlights, games, etc. for the program and hopefully the league. Sounds like he's got lottery potential, so it could certainly be a one and done situation.

That's a big-time get for Milwaukee - looking forward to watching him play this year.

Probably the only time you will ever see someone pick UWM over Duke. Good for them. The Horizon League is going to have some exciting talent next year.

This is great news for the conference. Hopefully this generates buzz and increases the level of play in the league.
Maybe now Milwaukee can beat WSU in the conference tournament!
Wait...

I’m really hoping we get another year of Loudon Love because Milwaukee is really starting to pose a threat for this upcoming season. I’m excited for the possibility of having more than 3 teams with a winning record in the HL but I would feel a lot better about it if we can start Loudon Love every night.

I’m excited for the possibility of having more than 3 teams with a winning record in the HL but I would feel a lot better about it if we can start Loudon Love every night. I'm not really worried. Their coach hasn't proven a thing. They haven't had a winning season since the last two years of Rob Jeter's tenure and they haven't finished in the top 3 of the league in a decade. This is the same thing that UIC did last season; they loaded up their roster from transfer guys from high major and p5 conferences, and were expected to at least make noise in the league, and they didn't do a single thing. Milwaukee has had 5 transfers out, 3 of which started double digit games last year, including their floor marshal Te'jon Lucas. I imagine there will be more hype surrounding the program with the addition of Pat Baldwin Jr, and I do think they'll be more of a factor this year than they have in years past, but I don't see any of these transfers turning the tables on what has been a subpar last decade for Milwaukee. The latest signing, Bol, is tall, but very slender for his height. He averaged 5ppg in 18 minutes per game in community college, and never saw the floor in 2 years at UCF. Nothing about that stat line worries me.
