He wasn't the POY because his team only won 8 games all season. He also wasn't POY because he's a guard with a negative assist/turnover ratio. He wasn't POY because he had the 8th highest field goal percetage on his team, and 5th highest 3 point percentage on a good team. He took over a third of his team's shots on the season. Anyone who looks at these stats doesn't see a leader. They see a selfish ball hog. Don't get me wrong, he got his points, but just beacuse your dad is the coach and you get to do whatever you want, doesn't mean your the player the league coaches felt brought the most value to their team, or was the player they most wanted to build their "dream team" around.

My guess is that Detroit will be looking for a new coach in the next 2 years. Davis has done a horrible job since taking over. He puts together an impossible OOC schedule for them. He isn't winning games. He can't recruit and he doesn't coach from the sideline. He just lets his kid do whatever he wants on the court.
