Offense really stagnant in the second half. Calvin is awesome. Excited to have him running the point. Those 2 comments really contradict one another. If Calvin was awesome tonight the offense wouldn't have been stagnant. He did not do a good job running our offense. 2 assists to 2 TOs is not going to cut it this year.

It would have been nice to have a tune-up game or two prior to this. Given how the game started though, the loss is disappointing. The Raiders really seemed out of synch and fatigued in the 2nd half(outscored by 21 points). Hopefully the team can stay healthy, get into better game shape, and get things ironed out before conference play.
We saw 2 debuts tonight (Finke and Huibregtse). We didn't see Harris and Welage. I believe both were on the bench. Are they healthy or does anyone have any insight? I thought they might get a few minutes to give others a break for a few minutes.

I should have clarified that I'm excited to have his offensive production at a guard position on the floor. He was hitting threes & had a few steals. His perimeter shooting & defense were two things I was focusing on tonight and the fact that he appears to have improved on both of them is exciting to me.

To add insult to injury, we led by 10 at the under 16, and lost by 16. A 26 point swing, at home, in 16 basketball minutes is absurdly poor.
Lots to work on. I'd like to think if we're playing the ideal rotation and not limiting minutes with certain players, we'd have a different outcome tonight. At the end of the day, a 16 point loss at home for this squad, is incredibly rare.
Last year we lost 3 home games by a combined 10 points. In 2018, we lost 3 games at home by a combined 6 points.

What a hugely disappointing game! I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of Nagy's post game comments.
Hall picked up right where he left off last season. In 15 minutes he managed to miss (5) shots, give away (2) turnovers and commit (4) fouls. He's a starter...and I don't get it.
Where did Love go in the 2nd half? Still with the two foot misses. My goodness.
Basile missed all (5) of his free throws and committed (4) fouls.
The two new guys looked like new guys. They get a pass.
How does Manns continue to not get any consistent time? I've heard that it's because of less-than-desirable defense. If that was the case last night, we should have only had two guys on the floor.
Calvin and Holden looked to me to be the only two guys out there with fight in them - along with Manns in his 7 minutes of play time. I about lost my mind when Love almost decapitated Holden fighting Holden for a rebound. Holden 2-7 from the free throw line.
They looked good early ono and then you could just see teheffort and the game going sideways. Huge disappointment,
Disclaimer: This negative critique is NOT intended to be a slam against Nagy. IMO we are fortunate to have him here. He cannot control the effort of two returning starters...but he can control the minutes (which I believe he did). I'm glad I didn't post last night.

After the game I turned on to the radio postgame show. They said they won't have a coach's interview with Nagy after games this year, but at wsuraiders.com they would have the press conference. I was hoping maybe they would carry it live or at least have videos posted soon after, but I'm not seeing anything on the website or on youtube, but highlights have been posted on youtube:

Early Observations....
Holden really looked like a leader out there
Love made a couple plays that seniors absolutely can't make, bad/lazy pass after a rebound comes to mind. It is still a lot of fun watching him grab a lot of those tough boards!
Basile looks a lot stronger, but almost borderline fat haha. Would much rather have that than the alternative of a thin big man!
The refs continue to make WSU/Horizon league basketball unwatchable. Of course the players' talent level is a step down from the major conferences, but I believe the way the game is officiated - allowing essentially no contact, foul on every other possession creating no flow, just a bunch of free throws - makes it hard to watch. I'd have to believe its less enjoyable for the players as well.

It was impossible to play defense without being called for a foul.
