In Big10 news, Indiana has fired Archie Miller, Minnesota and Richard Pitino have parted ways, and Penn State is hiring Micah Shrewsberry, a long time assistant under Brad Stevens and Matt Painter.
Dennis Gates rumors of a match at Penn State are officially over.

Dave Leitao is out at Depaul (again). Sounds like some Horizon League connections could be in play here according to Jeff Goodman.

Dennis Gates rumors of a match at Penn State are officially over. It looks like things worked out pretty well for Ed Schilling. After getting fired at IU he fairly quickly got hired at Grand Canyon by his friend Bryce Drew. GCU is now in the NCAA Tourney. |

I feel bad for CSU fans because I don't see a scenario where Gates is still their coach next year which means they get absolutely no benefit of taking a chance on hiring him 2 years ago. Hiring a new coach usually gets you an attendance bump. Winning your conference usually gets you an attendance bump. Going dancing usually gets you an attendance bump the next year. They didn't get that bump last year because their coach had a complete rebuild and even though they overachieved, they were still a bad team last year. They had a good year this year and fans were not allowed to come to games. If they lose him to another team and bring in an outsider as their next coach, their roster will probably turn over again and they won't get their attendance bump next year either. |
