Close games are won or lost with fundamentals.
That PFP that pitchers didn’t take seriously a few days ago?
The BP session when players tried to just hit HRs?
The infield glove drills that were hurried through?
The OF relay drill that wasn't taken seriously.
This stuff matters. I don't know how much of this applies to our RaiderGang but has to be taken seriously.

I don't know how much of this applies to our RaiderGang but has to be taken seriously. I don't think this applies at all to our team and I think both of you are missing the big picture. Baseball, like all sports is ultimately won/lost based on talent. A more disciplined experienced mid-major team can make a run in the NCAA tournament but they almost always fall in the end to a deeper and more talented team. The same can be said for baseball. We put together a really good mid-major baseball team that has consistently been able to compete with elite teams but haven't been able to take it to the next level. We can win a game or 2 every year vs ranked teams but we don't win those series. We haven't advanced in the college world series. It comes down to talent and depth of talent and unfortunately I don't see that ever really improving for us beyond where we are at now. The team we just played spends more on their baseball team than we spend on our basketball team and our basketball team makes up 30% of our entire athletic department budget. We can attract good regional kids and we develop the hell out of them. We don't have the resources to recruit nationally and we aren't winning recruiting battles vs these P5 schools. The NIL BS coming into play now is only going to make that worse. P5 conference schools have donors that can afford to buy any recruit they want by offering them endorsement deals. There is just no way a mid-major can compete with that. Right now, we are fighting way above or weight class and having some success with it. I don't think our ceiling is much higher than where we currently are at. We might be able to advance a round in the college world series someday but that is probably it.

Pitching is probably around 70-80% of overall success in Baseball. Any kid in HS who throws 90-95 mph is going to be highly recruited by all of the P5 teams. Finding a Diamond in the Rough kid who can develop to throw like that is tough to find.

Based on high school player rankings, the Raiders are getting good players, but not as good as the Big Boys are getting from Ohio. That tells me the WSU coaching staff is doing a great job of coaching up their recruits.
Let's look at how some of the #RaiderGang players are ranked compared to other programs. WSU's recruits are as good or better than any MAC/A-10/HL teams in Ohio. Here are a sampling of nameless players. The first number is the overall raking in Ohio, and the second is the Ohio position ranking.
Wright State 17/5----17th ranked high school player in Ohio/5th best player at his position 47/17 41/9 25/3 73/19 51/1
Indiana 2/1 4/2 32/3
Kentucky 6/1 18/1 7/1
Ohio State 27/2 9/3 79/16
Geogia Tech 2/1
Michigan State 19/5
Michigan 4/1
Cincinnati 50/7 27/2 26/8
Louisville 11/1

I think you are generally right. I should point out that Kent State got hot and actually made it to the College World Series in Omaha in 2012. But, they could not sustain that level of success. My hope and my dream are that our #Raidergang makes it to Omaha and is able to elevate the program closer to the P5 schools.

26-3 after 7 and the announcers keep discussing if there should be a run rule implemented. This is the first game of a doubleheader so need arms for the second game. WSU also picked up a game tomorrow at Oral Roberts.
