Wilbourn gives us nothing folks…slow defensively, no offensive capability…playing 4 on 5 at offensive end with him out there…just call it the way I see folks…and you all agree with me who are watching this game LMFAO. You can take your above quote and replace Wilbourn with pretty much anyone from our entire roster and say the same thing and it would be true tonight. Our entire team looks outclassed tonight.

Raiders getting boat raced…glad Trey and Tanner showed up tonight…everyone else MIA and save me the excuses folks on height difference… It's a height difference, weight difference, skill difference. Purdue has a roster of 4 and 5 star recruits. Their walk ons are higher rated than most of our guys.

Is this the worst loss since they went Division 1? Cannot play real Division 1 basketball with a team this small and unathletic. Team belief must be cratering

My math is a little weak these days. Are we 50 pts down??? If big d is accurate, that this game has a pretty small payday, then the game is a bit like that old definition of porn, it has no socially redeeming value. It has to be embarrassing for players out there losing by 40-50 puts. and it makes this program look really podunk. We have to do better than this.

I get those that desire a more challenging schedule but if it results in terrible/embarrassing losses and everything that comes with a losing record to open the season then I'm not sure of the point. Let's hope coach and players learned things tonight at least and that the experience is worth something.

Nothing about tonight's game surprised me. Purdue is obviously a superior team than us and they came to play. We didn't. We aren't going to beat many good teams playing this way. We have to get much more mentally tough and start playing more physical ball.

Purdue shot very well ( close to 40% from 3 and better than 50% overall) and shots just weren't falling for WSU (under 20% from three and only 30% overall).
Experience matters. With the exception of James Manns and the transfers, this is the first time playing against a program from a major conference. We'd all have liked to have played a mid-tier power conference opponent as opposed to the 6th ranked team in the country. If the Raiders can win the Horizon, they'll likely play a similar team in the NCAA tournament. With some experience, hopefully they will not go into the game looking like a deer in headlights.

In the end the only road to the the tournament is to win the Conference tournament so this beat down really changes nothing from that perspective. If they do make it and play another team like Purdue they'll get beat down again. They can't physically defend them, aren't big enough or strong enough to take it inside and can't shoot the 3. Really an enlightening game that shows the state of the program.

I think it is a case of dollar signs overwhelming good thinking. We didn't get a good paycheck for this game Not trying to be brash, but why the hell would we take this game if we didn't get a decent paycheck for it? Everybody knew how good Purdue was going to be this season. No benefit to this game in my eyes. Zero.

Really an enlightening game that shows the state of the program. This was a bad loss to a very very good team. Hopefully our guys will learn something from it tonight. From watching Nagy’s teams the last several years I know we are going to improve as the year goes on. Our defense is going to get much better. Our team rebounding is going to get much better. We are going to be a better team by conference play than we were tonight. The biggest concern I have had the last 2 years is that we have played like an entitled team to a certain degree. We think we are better than other teams and think we can win games with lackluster efforts. We have come out flat way too often and barely pulled out the win or lost games to inferior teams because of it. Getting embarrassed tonight might not be the worst thing in the world for these guys. They just got a serious reality check. I hope they pull their heads out of their asses and start playing like a team hell bent on winning.

No benefit to this game in my eyes. Zero. That would be a good question for our coaching staff at a future coaches show. I honestly don’t know their thought process. My guess is that this game was scheduled when our coaches still thought Love might be coming back this year. We didn’t get a great pay day from it but we got a decent payday for a trip we could make in a day. We got a nationally televised game and I think our staff thought we would have made more of a game against Purdue than we did. Win or lose, playing this game helps our strength of schedule. Playing and getting our butt kicked on the road also does more to prepare us for HL play than being on the other end of this scenario. How many times has everyone on this board bitched and moaned that we were playing a bunch of non D1 teams at home at the beginning of the year and running up the score against the cupcakes. Those games truly did nothing for us than helped us pad our stats. If we got nothing else from tonight, we helped Trey and Tanner build their confidence that they can play with anyone.

I am one of those who complains about buying in regional D2 teams. I'm sure it's a pipe dream, but we need more H&Hs against comparable teams first. Then we need buy games we could actually represent and compete in (and we've done that in the past). Playing OSU, Kentucky, Purdue, Indiana, etc. should not be on our list.
