drop said: OOC games are meaningless when you are in a one bid league. They are far from meaningless. First and foremost, losing all of these games will guarantee us a 15 or 16 seed if we are fortunate enough to make the Dance. It helps drag down the conference NET ranking also. Plus it reflects poorly on the program and makes recruiting even harder. I strongly disagree with that statement. Agreed. It’s a losing mentality.

Early in the season and if we can somehow pull an upset against NC State that would help with morale. As it stands we have a very poor roster outside of Tanner and Grant. Hoping we can get on a winning streak and dominate this horrible conference just for the stake of keeping them around for next year.

We have two point guards, neither playing well, and should not be on the court together.

Halftime score 34-28 Long Beach State another underproductive half of basketball.

If we end up losing this game (and maybe even already), this has to be the lowest point in the Nagy years by a good margin.

What a rough week! There are multiple issues: perimeter shooting, getting out rebounded, sloppy defense, and bench points. We start league play next week and we need to right the ship quickly or it is going to be a long season.

Wow. Just an awful start to the season. It's no surprise that this team is struggling to figure it out, but this is ridiculous. We are a almost a month into the season with zero wins against division 1 opponents.
We've all been hoping to move forward, and this start is anything but that. It's early, and of course conference season hasn't started, but looking at other squads and other scores this season so far, I've got a hard time seeing this Raider team seriously competing in the league this year.
I think the biggest problem we're facing is X factor. There's nothing on our team that scares teams. Basile and Tanner are certainly above average players, but nobody else on this squad, at least so far, is above average. If teams can limit our effectiveness inside, we have no other threat as seen by our taking of 20+ 3s night in and night out and missing 75%-80% of those shots.

It has happened. Our best players don’t have the energy to end the half and game. I wonder if they look at stats regarding production of individuals based on time on the court? It will be interesting to seeing the stats on this games as well.

It will be interesting to seeing the stats on this games as well. Needs to be better coaching then. Why is Neff playing over Wilbourn? What is the point of adding him to the team if a walk on will play before him? Why are we still shooting unnecessary threes? I thought they would have learned from our the last game last year. This is Treys 3rd year and he still can't hit any outside shoots. It appears are recruiting or development has sunk. IPWF will be an indicator on how this seasons goes. If we lose I feel like this will be the 2014-2015 season all over again.

Better coaching and better recruiting. This team is poorly constructed and that is all on the coach.

Its amazing, how in a 5 game stretch, this team could go from a preseason HL Favorite to every team on our schedule their slump buster.

Like everyone else I am not happy with our early season results. In a thread started last May about this year's roster I laid out a lot of concerns I have about this year's team and unfortunately a lot of those concerns are coming to fruition. I think our biggest concern right now should be with our coaching staff. Nagy lost 3 experienced assistants including his own son and their replacements are not getting the job done to date. Whoever is breaking down film and coming up with our game plans for each game has not done a good job. Our defense has been horrible. Our in game adjustments are non existent and we are 6 games into the season and we don't have a set starting line up let alone a good rotation. For the love of god I hope they look back at the film from the last few days and figure out that Trey Calvin and Norris Keaton should not be on the court together. AJ Braun was one of the more effective players we had on the court the last 3 days especially when you look at the limited minutes he has played. He averaged 7.3 points and 4 rebounds a game in 16 minutes. I really hope he is inserted into the starting rotation instead of Norris. I think we are a better team when we have 2 bigs on the court together.

I think we are a better team when we have 2 bigs on the court together. Agree with your assessment Big D. Teams are going to double and triple team Grant and Tanner till our outside shooting gets better. As we saw in these games, Grant and Tanner played a lot of minutes and I don't see that as good thing so early in the season. We don't need them to get worn out already just starting the season out. That causes missed free throws and defense to lapse. We need them to rebound and as we seen over these past games, we are getting beat on that margin. When Trey gets in a funk, he just seems to never come out of it in a game. He starts showing it with bad passes and sloppy D when he can't score. I agree him and Keaton don't need to be on the court together. We need to find a 2 who can shoot some jumpers and 3s. Who that is I don't know. I liked that Nagy is giving AJ Braun a chance instead of going to redshirt him. We need another big to step up and right now it is him. I know with the two guys hurt during the tourney it kind of made it we had to play him. What is going on with Brandon Noel? I have not heard a thing about him. Is he still hampered from his injury from last year? I was hoping to see him play as a 4 to help out inside. I agree about the coaching situation. Nagy and the staff need to adapt and make some changes quickly based off the roster we got. I always hear him on the radio show say "He has to do better" and it seems like he is saying that more lately. Are the assistants too afraid to say something to him? I thought Bere was going to be a good hire and Trice is probably still learning the college game coming from high school. We are going to find out next week what this team is all about when we get into Horizon League if we have the fortitude to get it turned around.
