Feels like we stole that one. GB had outplayed us the final 5 or 6 minutes and were printing money at the FT line. Huge play by Trey obviously, but the defense ratched it up in the final possession and really only gave up one look.

We had much better officiating in Thursday night with a much more veteran crew. It's tough for players to adjust going from one extreme to the other. HL is a bottom of the barrel league when it comes to desirability and pay for officials, so this is what we get on weekend games.

Calvin & Holden score the final 16 points for WSU, no other Raider scored in the final 7 minutes. Clutch shot by Calvin, and huge overall performance by Holden starting '22 with 22 points.

We played without our coach and without one of our starters with a roster that we all know has some holes in it. The boys didn't give up when we were down 6 at the end of the game and Grant fouled out. Guys stepped up and they found a way to win a close game vs a HL opponent. Great job all around.

It looks like another meager crowd at the Nutt House. The good news is the Raiders are up by eight with just under four minutes to go in the first half. Hopefully some more wins and students getting back on campus soon will improve our attendance.

2-0 shorthanded this past week. I'll take it. Hope everyone is healthy come Thursday for UIC.

Final score WSU 72--Green Bay 69 (55 plus Refs 14)
That's how I scored it. Refs simply would not let Green Bay be outscored.
By the way, Green Bay is pretty bad.

Attendance was 2677, our lowest game attendance in over 10 years. (2583 on 11/13/11 vs Kenyon)
Exhibition attendance is not published in box scores fwiw. This obviously exludes the covid year.

After today's 22 point effort, Tanner is at 1012 points and counting in his WSU career.

After today's 22 point effort, Tanner is at 1012 points and counting in his WSU career. Depending on covid and staying healthy, he's on track to finish as the second or third leading scorer in school history. More impressive is that he could do it in four years (Duggins for example played a little over four seasons with his injury redshirt year).

I love that Norris and Welage are gaining more playing time - along, of course, with Braun. Smart players. Welage has some uncanny fluidity to his game...his mid-range pull-up jumper is so smooth and he's a long defender. I hope we keep playing them and see where their comfort-level grows.
