Lead is back after a 7-0 run. A Welage 3 and back to back transition baskets. Don't have to worry about the zone when we score off defense!

NKU is getting higher quality looks the last 5 minutes or so. We're taking lots of contested shots and just not getting to the rim. Danger zone here. 3 minutes, down 5.

Why are we paying a guy a half a million bucks when he has no idea how to beat a team playing a zone defense?

Put this on Nagy for not preparing our guys for zone defense. Really grinds my gears how many head scratching losses we've had under Nagy to middle of the pack teams. A third conference loss with two hot teams coming to town, and not having played the clear league favorite yet....this was a game we really needed.
Really expected better tonight. Now the focus needs to be hanging on to a top 4 seed and that starts with sweeping the weekend. I'm making the 5 hour drive hoping for better results.

We are losing because our team is playing like a bunch of pussies. I was going to say we are playing the game way too soft but your terminology works too. Under Nagy's tenure we have consistently struggled against teams that play physical ball against us even when we have a clear size advantage. Aggressive teams that drive the lane and try to force contact and get to the rim eat us alive because they get high percentage shots and usually get to the free throw line too. We settle for way too many 3s and pull up jump shots when we should be attacking the rim. Even when we do attack the rim we go up and try to finesse a shot up and avoid contact. After watching every other team have success against us attacking the basket you think by now our players would figure out you want to force contact, not avoid it. After watching it happen to us year after year under Nagy you have to think he is teaching that to his players. It obviously isn't working.

Watch Nagy comes out in the paper and harps on the players D and takes no responsibility. And correction...he's paid now more than $500k... for this.

We keep talking about the same issues but this game is an indicator of how worn down we will be for the tournament. We need to get better players so we aren't forced to play with only 7 guys. We will continue to flame out each year in the tournament to trash teams like UIC, NKU and UMW.

Under Nagy’s tenure we have been winning with superior talent until this year. NKU played us correctly with the zone, effectively neutralizing Basile leaving only Holden as a true threat. Additionally, to be a stifling defense, you need enough quality players to limit playing time to about 30 minutes per player. We do not have close to that number of quality players. It is time to really look hard at our overall results under Nagy. Even when we have had the best talent in the league we have not met expectations and the fiasco with Milwaukee to end last season was a total breakdown by the coaching staff. I assumed when Butler left, we would dominate this failing league, yet we have not done so. We should seriously look at making a coaching change at the end of this season.

I assumed when Butler left, we would dominate this failing league, yet we have not done so. We should seriously look at making a coaching change at the end of this season. Hard for me to buy into that. Raiders have won or shared the league title each of the last 2 years, and we have to remember the change in team dynamic by the loss of the best player we've had in a decade or more. We're also dealing with the ramifications of covid protocols and the impact of player availability based on those protocols which has really only cost us one game imo. The rotational and bench issues were really complicated heading into the season with the loss of Alex, and Riley Voss in a walking boot has also been an issue. I think Nagy is doing the best he can... we all know that the Manns, Neff, Nagy trio aren't cut out for serious minutes. All of this to say, last night's game is really the first real blunder of the season in my eyes, and calling for the coach is premature. There's plenty of schools that would love to have Nagy, and I think he's done a better job than most of his mid-major peers. Schools envy to be us, with recruiting, facilities, and talent. Let's not lose sight of that. But Nagy should have seen this coming, and, in my eyes, did not do his job to preparing the troops.
