This is a game that scares the crap out of me. We don't match up well with Cleveland State. All the things we struggled with earlier this week against NKU, Cleveland State does better. All they do is attack attack attack the rim offensively and defensively they play very physical match up zones, full court presses, or man to man. We struggle most against zones but we don't do well with teams that keep switching up defenses on us either. They also run players in and out of the game like they are doing full shift changes in a hockey game and we only go 7 deep most nights. To make matters worse, this is a nationally televised game, and we don't traditionally play well in big games on TV.
We are running a lot of promotions to get fans in the stands for tonight's game. I really hope we rise to the occasion and give those fans a reason to come back for future games.

It's a tough night to draw in casual basketball fans with a myriad of things going on in town tonight, including some 50 high school matchups. The amount of available tickets on Ticketmaster confirms those suspicions. I'm sure the late start is a real downer for a lot of casual fans and families who don't want to be getting home at 11:30. I think a 7pm tip would have certainly done us more favors, but I do expect a nice student turnout with the pre-game party going on. Nothing else to do on campus at 9pm on a Friday.

Little disappointed the league gave us a trio of the usual HL suspect refs tonight. National tv and we get 3 of the worst. Josh White, Steve Honacki, and Brad Clauss.

Great start, great student turnout, and the walkup crowd looks great. Easily going to be the highest attended game in the HL thus far.
Also looks like we pinch hit some pep band members. I'm guessing these are Beavercreek or Fairborn kids helping out, but they sound great.

Looks like a great turnout, especially from the students. Well done!
