Not sure where else to put this, and I also can't believe I'm saying this, but is Wilbourn going to play at all this year? I don't recall seeing any injury updates on him? Why do Andrew snd Blake continue to ride the bench? Alex was 1-6 against RMU. There is no reason they shouldn't be playing. Looks like we’re back to playing 7. It’s working out great.

This is shaping up to be one of the most inconsistent teams we've seen in years, and I think a lot of it comes down to roster management. Obviously losing two monster pieces is a huge problem, but it wasn't like we didn't have a squad full of players with decent experience to step in and compete for major minutes. Now, I don't know if I care if I ever see Wilbourn on the court again, he's a defensive liability first and foremost, but absolutely nothing special offensively either. But to get completely blown out in a conference opener, against a team with ZERO d1 wins, and not even attempt to let some of the ancillary pieces a shot to bring some energy or excitement into the game is mind-numbingly stupid in my opinion.
Is Sisley or Wilbourn going to change the outcome of the game last night? No, probably not, but is it at least worth a shot in the dark? I mean nothing was working last night for us, so what's the worst that happens? We lose by 5 more? So what? I've questioned Nagy's use (or lack thereof) when it comes to timeouts; he's been questioned about his lack of playing a deeper bench this season, and also in years past. The thing that really chaps my ass right now, and I've said it before, this team doesn't have leadership. We lost our two best players last year, we've struggled on both sides of the ball in multiple games this year. I'm sure Nagy would tell you we're still feeling guys out, messing with plays, rotations, etc., but when you've got a squad that doesn't know what to do when times get tough, the coach should be the leader, and it doesn't appear to me that he's doing that effectively as the team didn't seem to respond to anything last night.
It seems like we've got three completely different teams this year. We have the dogfight team we saw against Davidson, Louisville, and arguably Bowling Green. Then we have the blow em out squad that absolutely pummeled Defiance (take that's for what it's worth), Abilene Christian, and Weber State; and then there's the team that has shown very little fight; we first saw that at the end of the UC-Riverside game and we saw it rear its ugly head again yesterday, and I'm sure it's not the last.
This feels like 2014 in the making again; start out decent in the OOC (check), now I'm worried that we're going to get absolutely blasted in conference on the road and struggle like hell to win home games against teams that historically we've completely dominated. Hope I'm wrong. Obviously we weren't dealt great cards in the offseason, but we have to play the cards we're dealt, and I don't think we're playing them very well right now.

For whatever reason Calvin and Davis didn't play well offensively the last two losses. 15 combined point against UCR and 16 combined against Robert Morris.

With the offseason on WSU fans earlier than normal figured I'd post this. For the roster for next year, here are some interesting questions to see play out. I'm not listing Treys decision because that's obvious. I limited it but...
1) Of the 3 incoming guards, which ones sits and redshirt and which one(s) can Crack the rotation?
2) Will Garcia and Sisley stick around and push Braun for PT?
3) How does Braun develop? His numbers improved year over year but at times he looked vulnerable defensively. Interested to see how he improves his third year
4) Hubregtse---Assuming Trey leaves, does he become a more well rounded scoring threat? Does he become THE primary perimeter option? He has shown he can drive and he seems like he's willing to try to be the guy at times.
5) How much do Logan Woods and Drey Carter factor into the rotation?
6) Does Amari Davis move to PG to get him on the court with Welage and Alex H?
Personally, I hope the lineup next year goes Alex, Andrew, Noel and Braun...draw a number at point but anybody but Norris....

6) Does Amari Davis move to PG to get him on the court with Welage and Alex H? Dear Lord, please no. I don't think my blood pressure could handle that.

Interested to see how he improves his third year I'd like to see A.J. spend some time in the weight room and put on a few pounds. He's got the skills, but sometimes it seemed he just couldn't hang with some of the other teams' big guys.

He seemed to get the ball stripped many times before going up with his shot. Would also like him to just go right to the hoop instead of trying to get fouled every time he goes up.
