What a moron. If he cared at all about Detroit he would have never entered the transfer portal or wasted so much time in it. Anyone worth a crap on their roster also entered the portal after he announced he was leaving. They had a decent nucleus returning for next year. Now they have no one coming back but him and will be a dumpster fire.

This is certainly interesting. You can't help but wonder of that remaining and unplaced 46% (and TP entrance to begin with), how much of that was individual decision making or the encouragement of program staff. Not a fan of the TP, but I guess it's here to stay.

This is certainly interesting. You can't help but wonder of that remaining and unplaced 46% (and TP entrance to begin with), how much of that was individual decision making or the encouragement of program staff. I think the vast vast vast majority of that was individual decision making. Every staff has a sit down with each player at the end of the season. They tell each player what they need to focus on in the off season and are given an idea of what their role could look like in the upcoming year if they work on the areas they are told to work on. There are some players that are flat out told that they aren't cutting it and they should think about transferring, but I think that number is pretty low for most schools. When a staff does that, they also tell that player they will help them find a new home that better suits that player's ability. It's in the best interest of the program to help each of their players find a new home because of the APR (academic progress report). Every school is responsible for every kid they bring into their program to make sure they are progressing towards getting their degree. Any player that leaves a program and doesn't find a new home is going to count against their APR. If a school's APR drops below a certain number, they are no longer eligible for post season play.
